Cost of a Veil?

Can someone give me an idea of how much veils cost, ballpark? I`m looking for something fairly simple. Also, a friend offered to make one for me...what do you think? She`s made her own veil, as well as for her SIL and two other friends. I saw the first two and they didn`t look any different than anything you`d buy in a store (I mean that in a good way in that they were just as nice). Any feedback is appreciated!

I bought mine through the internet site www.veilshop.com. I found the site very informative (they have a veil tutorial on the kind of cuts, gatherings, edgings, etc). I ordered the samples to see what color went best (I got diamond white) and they came within the week. When I finally did place my order from them (2-tier, elbow length, fine edging on a 3' comb, center-gathered), it cost me $57 and it arrived in 3 days. It was perfectly packaged (not a wrinkle!). I still don't think it was a bad price and I couldn't be happier. I'd check them out.
