i hate the store i bought my gown from and would prefer to get alterations elsewhere ... but not if it's much more expensive (i'm poor)
my alterations cap at the bridal store is $275, with $85 or $125 additional for busle, depending which kind i want.
i really only need to get it shortened a bit and tightened a bit ... how much would something like this cost at a tailor?

hey maybe you can call the store that I bought my dress as my alterations cost $130 and that includes the bustle.. fm me for their phone # and then maybe you can ask them if they will do it for you

My alterations cap was $250, but they only cost $70 in total. I had pretty much the same alterations as you- though I didn't need it shortened since we had it measured hollow to hem.
However, they ripped us off on the bustle! I think it was $300!
ETA: This was at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue.
