Cost of Alterations

I know that they vary, but how much should I budget for bridal gown alterations?

it depends where you go... are you getting them done where you got the dress... they usually have a cap for alterations!

ETA: i would say average betwee 3-500.

I haven't even started gown shopping, and I only want to look at things within my budget, but didn'tk now how much extra to expect to pay on top of the actual dress.

I didn't want to assume it would be like $300 and have it end up being like $800, lol

mine were set at a flat rate of $395 for standard alterations and $195 for bustle.

$00 seems very very high, even for the most extensive alterations... id say the most would be more like $500 or $600...

But it smart to consider that when you are looking...

mine were capped at $275 .... plus $85 for a bustle.

plus tax, for some reason

i reached the cap (a bit more than the cap, in fact ... but only paid the cap, obviously) for having my dress let in a little, and making it a bit shorter.
