Cost of China

Original post by NYCHICK

I want to register for China but I don't know what is reasonable. I really didn't even want to do a registry but I guess most people do so I am doing it. What is an appropriate price for China. I just looked at a Waterford 5 place setting for $100. Is that normal. It sounds fair to my guest, but I have no idea. I need help on this China thing ladies. All suggestions are welcomed.

Be car.efull when you buy China because most China is discontinued within 2 years. If you are going to buy China find out what there Open Stock Policy is

I've never heard of such a thing.

The pattern I liked was approx $100 from Fortunoffs too. I don't think that's unreasonable - if you're guests don't want to spend that much, they can pick something else off the registry. You are going to have it for the rest of your life!

We went to register at bed bath and beyond and we spent a long time picking out china because our tastes our so different, we finally settled on Mikasa's palatial platinum which is usually 49.99, but I've seen it on sale at Macys for about $36.
