Re: cost of electric
Right after we moved in (several years ago), we had a leak in the basement after a heavy rainfall .. turned out water was coming in through the electric panel .. anyway .. in our inspection (prior to closing) it was recommended that the amps get upped on the house .. well .. the then-homeowners refused to do that job .. but when this leak was discovered (by us during our first week in the house) .. the electrician upped the ampage (to 200 - I forget what is was before .. 120, maybe) .. most of the work he was going to have to do for the leak was similar to upping the ampage .. anyway .. I believe it cost us around $1,000.00 .. maybe a bit more.
If you need an electrician .. you should try Cross Electric .. we found them a couple of years after living in the house .. and were very, very pleased with the work they did for us.
The electrician who increased the amps on the house, he did work on our house for the prior owner .. which is the only reason we used him in the beginning. We were not satisfied customers, which was why we switched to Cross on the recommendation of a friend.
