Cost of Flowers

Hi all,

I've started to price flowers for the wedding and went so far to Flowers by Brian (which is a house vendor). I know it's so far in advance since I am not getting married till March of 2008 but I feel like I should start looking.
Can I ask is there any specific questions (other than the obvious) that I should be asking the florist? Also what is the average cost for wedding flowers?

For just under 2K flowers by burton is giving me:

17 low centerpieces
1 bridal bo-k
2 alter sprays
1 FG basket of flowers w/ petals on top
4 mob/grandma corsages
6 BM boquets
1 card table bo-k
and all bointeers for free (were getting about 12)
of ANY flower I please!

plus, free throw bok!

Lol I actually figured out what I wanted when my best friend got married.. I saw the hassle that she went through with her florist and I told myself that I NEVER wanted to go through that. She only had 6 months to plan her wedding which was a hassle for the most part- now seeing prices for myself I see that she got really ripped off.

I also love the idea (who wouldn't ) want flowers on their wedding cake.. it looks so nice.
