Oheka Castle is very nice. I went to a wedding a few years ago. I believe it was in June. To be honest I wasn't that impressed. The grounds were very nice but the food and the room could have been better...to top it off it was a buffet and we had to get up and go into another room to get our utensils and food. I think for the price you pay to have your wedding you can go to so many other places that are just as nice and you can get more for your money.

I could not agree with you more! i used to say 'i have to get married there' years ago just because of the look of it..then i found out how much...then i went to some weddings there....its ok...but sooo not worth that kind of money....its jmo but if i was to spend almost $300 pp...I'd expect to be wowed...and i wasnt...and i have been there more than once....

Agreed my good friend worked for a well known vendor and he has been to ALL the halls lol...he said he was unimpressed with actual ballroom although the grounds and outside were nice. Again I havent been and think it looks amazing but he knows his stuff and said he's go elsewhere.

Re: Cost of wedding at Oheka Castle

If you are serious about visiting the place...when you call i seriously recommend that u make the appointment with RICK.....and noooot anyone else (but u didnt hear that from me)

the prices for Oheka vary a lot. they have 'standard' prices that they hand out (which i know have changed since we first booked there in 06). but they have different prices, min, site fees and offers for different dates. and they are flexible and willing to work with you.

honestly...as far as prices...we originally were going to book a different hall in li but we are paying about the same at oheka vs the other hall. we did change from a sat in oct to a weekday in nov.

as far as the menu (drinks etc) u can change it...u can sit with the chef and work it out so its exactly what u want. we basically only kept the entrees the same.

if u have specific questions u can fm me.

Re: Cost of wedding at Oheka Castle

I fell in LOVE with Oheka. It was one of the first places we went to. We met with Rick and he was awesome! Really down to earth guy. They even gave us a big goodie bag which came with champagne flutes, wedding magazines, lotion, makeup, favor samples and more! When he gave us the pricing info I was crushed. But he did suggested that we wait (probably 5-6 months before the wedding) that way they are more flexible to work out a better deal (waive site fee or lower the per plate). I thought it was really sweet of him to give us that info but I'm not the type of person who waits last minute. I think planning in 5 months would kill me (I'm the type of person who packs a week before I travel!!!) But I really hope it works out for you!
