don't feel crappy....if thats what you love then be happy about it. I tried on a gown yesterday that is $6,000 and I'm considering it if I don't find anything else that WOWs me. Some girls want to spend less which is fine and some want to spend more which is also fine...its a personal preference

my dress is raw silk with alencon lace and i love it

My dress ended up costing around $1400 but it's because I upgraded to the swakorski crystal.. instead of the glass beading on it.. it's a maggie sottero! (but that's not counting tax, alterations and a bustle... im sure i will be at the 2K mark)

i think it depends on the designer too - some designers are more expensive than others - you can def find a gorgeous dress that isnt

i knew i didnt want to spend more than $1000..and i didnt..i spent well under $1000 on my dress..so it really just depends on what you are looking for and what appeals to you..the best way to find out is to go looking for a dress..

I agree!! My dress is also under $1000 and it's very ornate and beautiful. P.C Mary's (a designer) has beautiful gowns at very reasonable prices!! Check them out!! Good Luck!

Don't feel crappy especially if u love it! mine was 6,000 but i ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT!!!!!

i wanted to post a little warning. Heehehe my dress started off as a great buy at $765 but then additions went up such as I wanted a lace balero which cost $250 then i had to buy a 18 even though i lost all the weight in the end and the 16 was more then fine so that was an extra $100 THEN we get to alterations, those had a cap but the bustle is not included with the cap. In the end it added up to $1,350.

So its kinda scary how cost build up IoI

my dress came to $1700 not including alterations.
there are so many factors that determine the price of dresses...even salons. i 1st saw my dress in 1 store and knew i wanted it but didn't order. i went to another salon and saw it for $350 less!
