I'm just trying to get an idea of what the average cost of a bridesmaid's dress is.
The one I have picked out has a price tag of $280, but they were 'generous' enough (smell the sarcasm) to knock it down to $265 b/c I purchased my gown there.

Mine were $160 with an additional $50 cap for alterations from Adrienne's in Islip.

$105 @ David's Bridals. I wanted A-line, simple, b/c not everyone is size 0, so I want them to feel comfortable & beautiful that day. Besides I feel bad asking them to spend a ton of $$$$

Jordan Dress - 114 at Burtons, but i spent $250 for a BM dress for my brothers wedding. If the girls can afford it, and you absolutly love it, I would say go for it. You shouldn't have to settle, if everyone can afford it.
Edited: Why don't you call around to other stores and maybe you ca get a better price ont he same dress.

Mine are by Dessy, and I think they are right around $ 200 - maybe $196 with the whopping discount from the bridal store

My BMs dresses are Bill Levkoff. They were $150 from Macy's Bridal in Manhasset. Alterations were capped at $55, which is included in the total. I think the total came out for them to be like $206... I didn't realize how high it ended up, I felt REALLY bad

Mine were $109 with the wrap..no tax..no shipping! Got a deal!
Oooooooo . . .I really look like a cheapskate! $99 @ David's Bridal.
But I really tried to make a conscious effort to make their expenses as IN-expensive as much as I possibly could. Everybody will be traveling long distance. I'm just trying to be considerate.

I am paying 214 for the dress I am wearing in my sisters wedding as a BM. The dress is Jordan by Bill Pesce. For my BM's, I was looking into David's Bridal. One I like is 110 and they will get 15% of if I purchase my dress from there as well.

I've picked out a Jordan Dress Style #325 At the Commack Wedding Center for $118 but still looking for a better price. Anything under $115 no tax
