we're going for 12 days - we'll pay by credit card where we can- but i don't know how much cash and traveler's checks to bring. help!

When we travel we usually bring $300-400 in cash with us and use ATM's as needed. The few times I used travellers checks I found them to be more trouble then they are worth.

we brought a couple hundred in cash. ATMs were readily available in most areas and credit cards wdiely accepted. If we went again, I'd bring less $$ and just use the ATMs more.
I'm not a fan of traveler's checks either.

I thing we brought about $500 for 10 days. I was glad we did, ATM's were difficult to find where we stayed and were more pain than they are worth. But credit cards were accepted in most places and we used them.
