Costa Rica HOneymoon

We are planning on going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. Anyone have any ideas as to where to stay, etc? We will only be able to go for one week.

I am open to any suggestions as I have never been to that part of the world.

Thanks so much!!!

Arenal/La fortuna is by the volcano and there's plenty to do. Tabacon is a nice play to stay there.

If you'd like to do beach, you can go to Manuel Antonio..Been to both places and both were amazing!

Costa Rica is a beautiful country with plenty of activities to do or beaches to relax.

do you think it would be okay to just stay in one central area and NOT go out to the pacific coast?? someplace to take day trips?

any good tour companies to recomment?

Yea, if you don't want to do the beach, I think Arenal is a nice central location with plenty to do. You can do hot springs, hanging bridges, zip lining, go to the waterfall, we went to Venado Caves (which ended up being cooler than we expected) and waterfall rappelling (we used PureTrek and they were AWESOME!)

For transportation in between cities, you can use transportcostarica.net/ They were reliable and professional.

www.arenal.net/ Can help you arrange for tours. We used them. If you don't stay at Tabacon in Arenal, go to Ecotermales Hot Springs (never go to Baldi, it's cheap and they dont have a max # of ppl they let in per day). You have to request Ecotermales, they don't really advertise but it's a nice and large hot springs place with 3-4 different pools, nice clean place to change and fantastic meal afterwards.

You can even take a day trip to Monteverde from there. It's 1.5 hours and you can even spend a night there if you like. Monteverde is a cloudforest and home the first zipline. It was the best tour we took there (Original Canopy Tour)..10 ziplines, 2 rappells and a tarzan swing...really high in the tree tops, you climb up a hollowed out tree onto one of the platforms - AWESOME. If you're looking for a day trip or one nighter, this is DEFINITELY one of them.

I used Frommers and Tripadvisor with my planning. Any other questions, please let me know!! I love C.R.!!
