Costa Rica wedding suggestions and opinions

Costa Rica wedding suggestions and opinions

I told fiance that I would consider a destination wedding if it was in an amazing place that I would want to honeymoon at. I really want to go to Costa Rica and I read that the marriage requirements there are really simple, that it's even easier than getting married in the U.S. Can anyone recommend nice places in Costa Rica that I would be able to have my honeymoon and vaction? I really would like to stay at 2-3 different places. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

My sister spent a few months living in Manuel Antonio in 2003.

I went to visit her for a week, and there are beautiful resorts. It did seem more 'untouched' than other places I have visited. We went to Arenal (the town with a live volcano), the Cloud Forest , Manuel Antonio, and San Jose. The rainforests are amazing, and the people were very accommodating. I was there in may - at the start of the rainy season. Every day around 3 in the afternoon - it would rain buckets. But about 20 to 30 minutes later, it would clear up.

In my opinion - Costa Rica, though unique and beautiful, is more of a honeymoon / vacation destination. I don't know if I would recommend that you plan a CR destination wedding. JMO

We ALMOST went there last year for our one year anniversary--looked amazing.

We did go to CR for our anniversary to Quepos area and Playa Tamarindo...for a wedding the Four Seasons (up in Guanacaste region) or any of the boutique hotels in Manuel Antonio would be nice.

fh and i went to costa rica last may we stayed at the allergo papagayo its was an all inclusive resort we were there 6 nights and with thr air fair it was only like $2000. you can probably call the resort and find out if they do weddings or if they can recommend a place that does weddings.

We went for our anniversary during the rainy season, it rained like one day, if you stick to certain areas it is okay.

We spent half the trip in Quepos area, stayed at La Mansion Inn (LOVED IT) and half in the north west, Guanacaste Region/La Playa Tamarindo and stayed at Capitan SUizo--also great.

Pictures from our trip HERE

La Mansion Inn

Capitan Suizo

ETA: Depending on what areas you are going to, different must dos....Feel free to FM me if you need ideas, we went for 9 days to two different areas.
