Could that have been the baby moving?

I was sitting down this morning when I got several sharp pains that felt like shocks on my right side. I've never had that happen before and now I'm wondering if that was the baby moving. ANyone?

How many weeks are you?
It could very well be!! Everyone feels the movement differently, so Im sure it was!!
For me it started as little fluttery movements.

Now im getting 'mini-kicks' I call em
Im loving it!

Enjoy every minute !!!!!

several sharp pains are more than likely ligament pains. It's your uterus stretching and growing to make room for baby.

Baby is going to feel more like little bubbles in the beginning. Or like there's a little butterly in your belly (which there is!). You'll feel almost like a little spasm, but it wont' hurt at all. It will be fleeting at first and become more and more regular. Almost the same feeling you get when you get nervous about something.

Soon that will turn into thumps and rolling and pokes.

And then it turns into big readjusting movements and kicks in the ribs where you try to get up in the middle of the night to pee and walk as gently as you can not to wake it up!!!!!

I am 16 weeks. It felt like sharp little electric shocks just under my ribs on my right side. It happened several times.

oh under your ribs....hm...usually the itty bitty would be a little lower at around 16 weeks - but what the heck do I know! I am just trying this ride out for the first time!

I just remember the first feelings didn't hurt. They just felt like fluttery feelings, not really pangs of anything. As if a little bug was deep down in there building a nest.

Well the nest is definitely built and the nest is ME. Now the knocking around even hurts sometimes!...But it's a good hurt..

I dont remember what week it was for me but it was a pingy kind of feeling. I kept reading about feeling a 'flutter' and I wasnt feeling that but - DUH! - I realized I was having pings and pangs and that was the baby moving! Aw!! Enjoy!!!! Everytime I hear something like this here, it brings me right back to the feeling. Amazingly wonderful

ETA: Mine was lower but I carried very low all along so it depends on how you carry and what position the baby is in.

It's hard to judge for someone else, but I'd say ligament stretching is probably right.

I guess its just things shifting around in there to make room. Thanks.
