I'm getting married on a Sunday morning in February. So I need someplace to come in a little bit early to accommodate my party....but there IS five of us, so I figured it shouldn't be that hard, right?
Just got my first hair/makeup quote...from my local, normally on the cheaper end hair salon...and I'm having a little bit of sticker shock.
I was originally quoted $180 for my hair, $140 for each of my BM's....when I was like woahhhh, I was expecting expensive but not THAT expensive, they lowered it to 'bottom line' $160 for me, $125 for my girls. If it was during normal business hours, it would only be $100-$120 for me.
I was also quoted $150 for my makeup and $100 for my BMs. They were willing to go down to $90 for each of the BMs and firm $150 for me. And this is NOT airbrushing.
Is that normal?
They told me no matter where I go the prices are going to get jacked up because I need someone for like 6am.
Christ...its not like I'm asking them to open up early for one person. They'd be getting a pretty penny at normal prices. Its not like they're washing/coloring/cutting. Just throw my damn hair up, smack some makeup on me and make me look pretty for one day for a normal price of $200....not $330, ya know? I was hoping my BMs wouldnt have to spend more than $150 each....not $225 each.
Or am I being unreasonable here?
Anyone know where I can find a decent deal in the Levittown area?

I know that Dusti from Fire Monkey Hair travels and has done early morning weddings. She is also way less than what you were quoted.

Re: Could use some advice on Hair/Makeup, ladies...
I hired Divine Artistry for makeup and she is a little expensive compared to the prices I've seen on here from other brides, $250 for the bride and $100 for the bridal party. Her prices aren't based on what time of the morning she needs to be at the location. She has been to a bride's house at 4AM. She also includes airbush and eyelashes in the price. But she recommended her friend for hair, Angela's Hair Designs. I have a trial with her in two weeks, which she charges $40. Her work looks great. She quoted me $125 and $70 for the bridal party for the wedding day, which I think for the bridal party price isn't bad at all. Her name is Angela's Hair Design. Let me know if you want more info. Good Luck!
