So yestrerday was the Big Day for me, I had my last cigarette and do not intend to ever smoke again. This is my first very serious attempt to quit but I want it to be my last as well.
I could use some support, if any of you have it to give Any former smokers out there?
It's going to be tough, but I don't want to be a smoker bride, and I don't want to be a smoker wife, and I want to have kids and want to quit now before I get there.
Wish me luck!!!

GIRLS, thank you so much for your continued words of support!
I am at hour 64 of not smoking and doing OK. For me, it hasn't been so much the physical part of quitting that's getting me - it's the mental part. Non-smokers likely won't get it, but smokers or past smokers will - my brain is telling me how AWESOME smoking is and how much I love to do it. It's sick! Because it's NOT awesome and I DON'T love to do it ... but my brain is tricking me into thinking otherwise. So I'm just trying to shut my brain off, keep distracted, and not go anywhere near a lit cigarette. It's been OK so far.
Yay for me!

I am proud of your decision! You will be so thankful years from now! I am 41 and I can tell you smoking takes it's toll on your lungs. I notice I can't do things other people my age do at the gym. You will go through a little bit of a rough time at first, but once they have been out of your system for a while, it gets easier. I quit with acupuncture, it really helped me with the cravings and the 'triggers' like after meals or when you drink alcohol. Good luck to you!!!
