Could we share?

Could we share?

I did a search on reception halls & I came across a great post with everyones prices of all of the halls they've been to & been quoted at- but they are old posts & I'm sure the prices are outdated- is there one for '08 brides? I'm thinking I'd like to be an '08 bride, but I would love to know some of the prices people are getting so that I know whats in my range-- (send me elsewhere if I overlooked the proper post)

So if anyone doesn't mind, could we share our reception hall ordeals? Thanks!

OK sorry just found it.

Re: Could we share?

We booked the Brentwood Country Club and got a great price. They also offer package deals which are great. Not sure where you live, but we looked at Timberpoint, Irish Coffe Pub, Captain Bills... BCC was the best..price and overall. Most places are giving 06 or 07 prices for 08, which is great. If you are doing 08, I would start looking and book. Believe it or not, even though it sound far, a lot of places I called to make appointments with, once I told them my date, they were already booked. So if you want a certain date like we did, don't take advantage that it is 08. That's my advice! Good Luck!

i agree book ASAP if you love it. You will lock in the price and not have to to worry about your major vendor. I booked two years in advance to the day and it was nice to get it out of the way. also book any vendor as soon as you are decided. i booked my florist in 05 for 07 and got the 05 prices which are a lot cheaper. people may say ur nuts but u will be saving some serious .

I agree.........the earlier you book, the better the price. You'll get this year's prices even though you're in 07 or 08

First off, let me say that I am SO excited and can't wait until my day in September of '08, but I have a question...are any of you afraid of booking so early? I mean, how do you know that the date won't change or that you won't change your mind? Ha, i guess that uncertainty is something you just have to deal with, but i've been so nervous just thinking about cementing a date and then having to change it.

Re: Could we share?

I definitely do not think it is too early to book, as long as you look around to many different places to make sure it is the right place for you. I have been making phone calls to places I think I might like after looking at their websites. I found some places that I think might be reasonably priced. (I'm all about this sharing reception hall info thing) So some of the places I looked into (only online, not in poerson yet) and got basic quotes for over the phone are:

The Swan Club
Lido Catering
The Sand Castle
Larkfield Manor
Woodbury Country Club
Chateau Briand
Manor East

You can FM me if you want some info

Cresthollow
Foxhollow

Re: Could we share?

I am an 2008 bride. I don't know if it will help. But, I have check out some places in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Long Island. Let me know which borough you would like a quote for?

Re: Could we share?

I purchased the wedding sites and services book and they give you information on the sites and the range of price per plate. But, we I went to visit the caterers in-person the price range was actually out of range. And everyone said,'Oh those prices are outdated'. And in turn I said to them, we are you going to adjust the prices because the book is a current issue. Dah. I really hate that about reception sites. Just thought I would share that with you.

Could you share with me? I am an '08 bride. I went to the '07 forum to get estimates but where did you find for 08.

LT708 Posted:

Re: Could we share?

I called everywhere to find estimates, but i'm sure are the basic prices. they might be a little different once you go in and maybe add some things. some places wouldn't give a price over the phone though

Re: Could we share?

That goes for everything.. Book as much as you can before this year is through to lock in the 06 prices! Thats what i am trying to do!
