country clubs

i saw a beautiful country club on the internet http://www.bellportcountryclub.com/index..htm - bellport country club. site says it is on the great south bay and hosts 1 reception at a time. has anyone seen this place? we would love to be on the water, but want something plain, not glitzy, can hold 150-200 people, available outdoor cocktail hour,up to $150 tops per person. i know i am asking a lot, but shouldn't we on your special day? if anyone has any more suggestions or input about bellport country club or others, please pass along. thanks in advance!

I went to a wedding there in Oct. last year. I was very turned off because the service was terrible, but it just may have been the girl assigned to our table (and a few next to us). The food was not very good, but everyone seemed to have a good time. They had a great DJ and the views are beautiful. If this is what you are looking for and food is not the most important thing, then just make sure you taste the food and get what they cook best!
If it does not have to be a country club, and you just want a place on the water, try the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale. They are catered by www.stonecaterers.com. Cocktail hour can be on the back patio overlooking the Connetquot river.
I am planning long distance , so that adds to the stress. I'll be in NY for 5 days over the holiday and I have a zillion things to do while I am there . It will all get done though. Good luck !

I was married there in August. We had 150 people(10 tables of 10's & 12's). It was comfortable, but I would not have more than 160. There was still lots of room for dancing. We had a sit down first course, buffet dinner with so much food (they gave us 10 trays to take home), and cake served with another dish of mixed desserts for each person. I guess they must have changed their menus totally. We also had our ceremony there, and they served champagne and water beforehand. We did not pay for this in our contract.

I am gettind married at southward Ho CC in Bay shore. The room is rigt on the 9th hole and it has abeautiful outside cocktail area

what are some questions I should ask? Also, do you think I can get $50 pp in Febuary? Any helpful tips you have are greatly appreciated.
