Couple searches for dress bride left in back of NYC cab By Associated Press, 8/2/2001 07:18 NEW YORK (AP) A couple was frantically searching for a wedding dress that the bride-to-be mistakenly left in the back of a yellow cab Tuesday night, the New York Post reported Thursday. Dorit Meyer ,34, of Germany, forgot to take her wedding dress out of the taxi she was riding to her fiance's house in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. ''I'm freaking out. I feel so stupid,'' Meyer said. ''The whole time I was sitting with it, I was saying, 'Don't forget.''' Meyer and her groom-to-be, James Cashin, 44, immediately reported the missing dress to the Taxi and Limousine Commission. Cashin said they don't have the funds to replace the $1,500 champagne-colored dress. The agency is working with the Port Authority and the Metropolitan Taxi Board of Trade to find the dress, which came from Hamburg, Germany, and officials told the Post that they are confident that it will be found. ''All troops are out on this one,'' said TLC Commissioner Matthew Daus. ''We are confident we're going to find it.'' The couple plans to marry Aug. 24.

Saw on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning that if the dress is not returned, the show will get the bride a new dress from Kleinfeld's. Has me thinking.....
