couples living together b4 wedding, what to register for?
fh and i have been living together for several months and we've both been living on our own for several years. at this point, we really have everything that any couple who hasn't lived together yet needs to get (maybe except china).
any ideas on what to register for? i was thinking of doing a honeymoon registry and then maybe choosing a place to register for odds and ends (maybe new towels or bed sheets).
anyone else is or was in this situation? what did you do?

We registered for our honeymoon (honeymoonwishes.com).
I also registered for some things at Macy's, Bed, Bath and Beyond (which lets you return things for CASH if bought off your registry) and Fortunoff. These are just things that I didn't want to or couldn't afford to buy myself.
Let me know if you'd like to see an example of my honeymoon registry! Some things have already been purchased!!

We had the exact same problem. We did register for good china and a good set of flatware for entertaining. Other then that we registered for towels, sheets, and then some stuff that would be great to have, but that in my situation could not see buying right now...aka some small kitchen appliances. Our registry list is very small..so I know where you are coming from. I figure once the list runs out...people can just do cards

thanks for the ideas. i just don't wanna register for crazy things b/c i happen to be getting married. one of my friends did that. she and her dh and were living together for about 3 years before they got married and they did a FULL registry - not cheap stuff either. and they live in a tiny apt in the city.
i just don't wanna be ridiculous like that. ie a $250 one cup coffee maker. lol.

We registered for things that needed to be upgraded. Like Calphalon. The craziest thing we put on the registry was a Kitchenaid stand mixer. And we actually got it. I love this thing, it's pretty damn cool.
Toaster oven, new towels, smaller things here and there. You can also register for gift cards too at BB&B.

we registered for china, a full set that was like 400.00 so nothing crazy. a new casual dining set, new pots, toaster oven, new knives, glasses (bc we break everything) . we just took a look at what we really use, and what we could replace. we registered at macys.

the big things we registered for were a nice luggage set...and a steam vac (I LOVE IT)...we tried to thing of things we would never buy ourselves...also everyone needs a kitchenaid.

FH & I have been living together for a year and a half... we have everything we need, but we'll definitely be registering for all new stuff.... it's more fun that way!!!

We were in the same boat. We registered for replacements for what was getting old between the two of us and what we would like to have that we didn't. We registered for nice silverware and glasses to go with my mother's china set at Macy's and everyday stuff at BB&B.

We registered for a lot of stuff we already had because we figured this was a great opportunity to get nice things and get rid of the junk we've accumulated since college.
I'm really glad we still registered because now we have awesome linens, pots, dishes, glasses, and I gave all my junky stuff to my younger sister...

We live together too...we are going to register for chins cuz I don't have any. Plus, by next year we will porbably need new cookware, flatware, maybe towels and sheets. Then stuff I love but would never buy for myself. Like a waffle maker!!!

We registered for a comforter set, nice sets of sheets, towels, accessories that may not be considered necessary (picture frames, decoration type stuff)...and we registered for camping gear (tent, sleeping backs, portable grill) We like camping on the beach!!

You could register at Amazon.com or some other place for nonkitchen / nonbath stuff.
You can get electronics or whatever you want at Amazon. That;s what I'm doing. :D

We lived together for 3 yrs so we thought we didn't need anything. But when we went to BB&B the guy told us to repalce everything. I got things that I needed or will eventually need and repalced smaller things.

We 'upgraded'! Both DH and I had lived on our own and then we were living together for 2.5 years when we got married. We actually did not register for china, since I inherited my grandmother's.
And let me say, it was nice to get rid of that 80 piece kitchen set from Target!! It cost like $19.99 and had cheapie everything!!
