couples living together b4 wedding, what to register for?

Original post by Audreygirl

fh and i have been living together for several months and we've both been living on our own for several years. at this point, we really have everything that any couple who hasn't lived together yet needs to get (maybe except china).

any ideas on what to register for? i was thinking of doing a honeymoon registry and then maybe choosing a place to register for odds and ends (maybe new towels or bed sheets).

anyone else is or was in this situation? what did you do?

tia!

We 'upgraded'! Both DH and I had lived on our own and then we were living together for 2.5 years when we got married. We actually did not register for china, since I inherited my grandmother's.

And let me say, it was nice to get rid of that 80 piece kitchen set from Target!! It cost like $19.99 and had cheapie everything!!

this is what we are planning on doing. We already have a house, but some stuff is cheap and there are other things (like my kitchenaid mixer) that I just couldn't justify buying for myself.
I also think a HM registry is a good idea.

we live together also and we have no room in our appartment for anything... i was told by other brides to register for the honey moon, and for bedding and towels (u can always use them)

We do not live together yet, but we do have a house since Oct. (FH lives there by himself and I will move in after we get married). We already have a lot of stuff, but we registered for sheets, towels, china, everyday dishes, and things we would not buy on our own like a deep fryer, popcorn maker, etc. We also registered for cooking sheets, and things that we felt we could use new ones of. And then FH registered for a cooler and things that we did not have, don't really need, but could use one day down the road.

I used a honeymoon registry, which was not as successful as I would have hoped. We also registred for some things at BBB. Almost everything on my BBB registry was purchased. We did some small things that we didn't have yet, baking pans, bowls ect. Then we did some fun toys like cuisinart and mixer. I refused to register for things that I wouldn't buy myself.

John and I didnt think we needed anything since we have lived on our own (seperatly and together) for four years. And well I am a shopper. But when we went to BB&B we realized that we needed some new stuff. China, crystal and bed stuff that you wouldn't buy yourself. Then we picked our fav style from home of appliances and completed our set. We also registered for a roomba because that little robot vacum is fanfreakintastic.

Your honeymoon, anything for your home that you may need new, or even register for gift cards to Home Depot or lowes that you may need to do things around your house.

i did a honeymoon registry (honeymoonwishes.com) and a registry at Fortunoff. The Fortunoff Registry isn't that big though.
