Cousin who I am not close with at all but invited as a nice gesture is bringing her mine month old to the wedding. She didn't ask if she could bring her...she just is. I am so mad but everyone is telling me to just deal with it...they're coming from Florida and shes nursing and has no one to watch the baby.
I get one wedding, and if there is a baby screaming during my first dance, I will f'ing go nuts. Kids weren't invited for a reason...it's a black tie Saturday night wedding.

NOT COOL!!!
I would say something to some family members, honestly. Did your invite say adult reception?

Thats a tough one, babies who are still nursing you cant really leave too easily, I would have declined the invite if I were her,,,its going to be noisy for a little baby! How do your parents feel about it?

OMG!!!! I am so sorry this is happening to you
Can't she leave the baby with someone else and leave the breast fed milk with them? Maybe you know someone who is not coming to the wedding that can babysit her for those hours.
I am sorry for being a bit of a *****, but no kids means no kids. That's totally rude. My cousin is coming to NYC with his kids, but I EXPLICITLY indicated that there are no children at the wedding. Period.

Re: Cousin bringing baby who wasn't invited....
DH's sister in law brought their 4 month old to the wedding and he was not invited. We told her ahead of time that if we heard any screaming or crying, especially in the church, we would ask her to leave. That she needed to be proactive in taking the baby outside
She did a good job and I barely even noticed the baby the whole day...turns out he WAS fussy and she had a miserable time. Missed the ceremony, had to leave the reception early, etc.
It wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be. And I really don't like children

Her sister, who is coming, knew not to bring her kids. They are not from around here and obvi don't know etiquette. It seems it's either I say they can bring the baby or tell them to not come, which i can't do. My parents think it's rude but that I need to suck it up (my mom isn't the most sympathetic person). I guess I'm just going to tell them they need to take the baby outside if she even makes a peep.

Re: Cousin bringing baby who wasn't invited....
why in the world would anyoneWANT to bring a baby to a sat night wedding??
i would simply say to her , listen if you have NO OTHER options and must bring the child, then you better be very proactive, and aware of when the kid is crying, you must attend to it immediatly. i dont want my ceremony disturbed or any other special moment bc you cant control your child.
the end, thanks for coming

If she would have asked if she could bring the baby I think I would be OK with it but since she just assumed it would be fine - that's a lil ballsy in my opinion. I don't blame you for being pizzed.

Babies should not come to a wedding PERIOD!!! That's just how I feel. No bride should have to deal with crying cranky babies during their most special day. I don't understand this mentality at all And I love children sooo much so it's not about that...I just feel there's a time and place! I'm sorry your going through this
