Thats exactly how I feel. I think she feels like I should kick one of my 2 bff's out since they are not family.. Well they are like family to me and we grew up together they've been at every single one of my family functions and im not throwing one out to make a space for A SPOILED UNGRATEFUL SNOBBY BRAT(WHO I LOVE DEARLY BY THE WAY ) JUST NOT ENOUGH TO PUT HER IN MY BRIDAL PARTY

You and you alone choose who's in your BP. Case closed.

My mother had asked me why I wasn't putting my boy cousin in the BP who is also friends with FH and I told my mom straight out - we only want a certain amount of people in the BP and as far as who FH picks, it's out of my hands. Plus, my cousin and I had a falling out due to issue I don't care to discuss (we still talk but the relationship is just not the same as it was) so why would I even want to put him in the BP? My mom knew all about the crap that happened so she shut up from then on.

Don't let people influence you in regards to this or any other aspect of your wedding. It's you and FH's day and you choose who you want to stand up for you on your wedding day.

You are definitely not wrong! You should put in your BP whoever you want and that's it.
I think the older generation definitely has this expectation though!
My mom had my godmother's son as a pillow boy in her wedding yrs ago. When her son got married, I was a bridemaid. My godmother had suggested to my mom prior to my engagement, how sweet this tradition was and how her grandkids were going to be in my bridal party when I get married!!!

i told FH the same, he was in a bunch of his cousins BP's when he was younger but he's not really close with any of them now or hangs out with them alot anymore, i tol him, they are not going to be in our BP.
