Cousin's Wedding Review
Yesterday I went to a wedding at Atlantica in West Hampton. It was a very chilly night and the CH was in a tent, with one heater. The bar area was in a separate area of the tent but was unheated. Not sure if it was their choice, but the food at the CH was lacking, unless you liked raw bar. There was shrimp, muscles and oysters (which looked good, but I don't like them). They were passing around either caviar or quail eggs- nothing I was interested in. There was no veges or cheese. Then we moved into the main room for dinner. The service was great, never got up to get a drink. The salad came, well dressed. Our menu said it was mixed greens with toasted walnuts and gorganzola cheese (we didn't have either). We had choice of sirloin steak with a very yummy sauce, free range chicken and flounder. No one at my table had the chicken. The fish looked good, came with rice and aspearagus (sp), but the portion was a little small. The steak was very good, they gave us steak knives but I don't think they were needed, there wasn't a lot of potatoes on the plate, but the steak was very tender.
The cake was good, don't know where it came from though.
She had Stan Weist Band. Not a big fan of bands, FH thought they were okay except for the lead male singer.
Acutally, the wedding reminded me of My Best Friend's Wedding. They live in Chicago now, and my cousin has that 'Kimmy' quality- short blond, not sure if it was the band or the tent feel of the room, but I just kept hearing, 'Someday, when your all alone, you will feel a glow of someone thinking of you...'
