Hello, I have a tattoo I would like to get removed on my shoulder blade...but was wondering if there's any makeup I could use to cover it if I don't get it removed before the wedding...does anyone have experience/advice? I would appreciate it :)

Have you had your makeup trial yet? your makeup artist should be able to help you out with this one

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
why not cover it up with a better tattoo? laser surgery ends up cost 10 times the amount you originally spent on the tattoo

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
I have not yet had a make up trial as the wedding is in Sept. 07:) I really just don't want a tattoo anymore. I only have this one, and thought of covering it up, but I'd prefer just skin, not that I have anything against tattoos... ..oh well

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
afriend of mine used the Tattoo Cover Kit when she got married. I couldn't see it.
the bad thing is, you're gonna sweat and its gonna rub off onto your clothes and other peoples but i guess thats the only option!

Yep...I doubt that there's a truly sweat proof cover up makeup...better start looking for laser doctors

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
I have a tattoo that I want removed too. My husband heard about this vanishing cream that lightens your tattoo over a period of time. It might not be gone for the wedding but at least it would be lighter and easier to cover- that's if it works. I haven't tried anythig on mine yet. Laser removal is just so painful and it isn't gone like you think . Depends on the tattoo. I think this stuff sepends on th etattoo. Google it cause a lot of them come up online. I'm trying to decide which one to try.

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
My FSIL did the laser removal - it was insanely expensive ($7,000 I think) for a very large sun on her shoulder but she is SO HAPPY. She said it was the best thing she ever did. You can FM me if you want to know anything specific.

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
I had a really big bruise ( A blood vessel burst while I was lifting weights 4 days before the wedding) on my arm on my wedding day.
It was on the inside so if I covered it in make-up I would risk it rubbing off on my dress.
I found clear bandages at the pharmacy and had my make up artist cover it for me. I put the bandages on top and they stayed on all night.
Of course I showed everyone my big ugly bruise on my wedding day, but when I look at my pictures, I can't see it.

hi there! I know of a Plastic Surgeon in NYC.. I've seen his work.. and I am confident in him. His name is Dr. Douglas Monasebian. on Park Ave.
I have a tattoo right smack on the left chest right above my breast.. and I have a strapless dress... I knew that I was going to have it lasered off.. so I went ahead and purchased the dress.. only to find out that the 1st Plastic Surgeon I went to didn't want to do it and said that most likely the laser was only going to lighten the tattoo and not remove it... and then I remembered Dr. Monasebian and I went there.. and I'm definitely going to do the procedure with him... the only thing is.. with the location of my tattoo he is going to have to surgical cut the tattoo out.. I know it sounds awful but it really isn't... it's going to cost me $5k for a tattoo that cost $100!

I have one on my left chest also, so I bought a dress that covers it.

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
thats why ladies, you shouldnt pick a tattoo off the wall or not research your tattoo artists haha i've seen way too many mistake tattoos.
but seriously, dont use that cream, a cream that takes away a tattoo, doesnt sound healthy or affective. and with laser surgery, if you want another tattoo, i'd just cover it. it'll cost you what 100-300 bucks to cover it but thousands of dollars to 'remove' it and it still has the shape to it. it fades not completely removes it.

Re: Covering your own tattoo?
I just didnt want to deal with make up. I am too obsessive and I wouldnt have been able to enjoy my evening because I'd worry about the 'possibility' of making up getting all over my dress. I dont regret my tattoos and the one I covered had more meaning than any of the others, but i didnt want to hear it from people who questioned why I got it in the first place. Out of sight, out of mind.
