Coworkers that PEEK at your monitor to see what youre doing...

The thread on getting caught online brought back memories of an ANNOYING CO-WORKER who was the BIGGEST brown-noser in the world.
She would mosey over to my desk, 'hi anna, watcha doin ?' and she would peek at my monitor as she spoke to me, and then even ask me questions about what was on my screen !!! (whether it was my wedding guest list, LOL, or my TO DO LIST for the day at work...) After I got back from meetings, she would say who was at my meetings, and why I didnt inviteher to my meetings, can you imagine ???? She was pretty pathetic, always in other peoeples business, she was like the 'town gossip'...always knew who took a cigarette or bathroom break and for how long, and she made it a point to send out emails at 6am to show us all (and our boss) HOW PATHETICLY EARLY she came to work, and of course, emails at 8pm... NOT MY PROBLEM she had NO LIFE !

OK, i let it out, LOL....
thanks for listening ! that memory struck a nerve as if it was just yesterday !!! HOW FUNNY !

ooooo I hate that!! There is one woman who does that here. And its not like she can tell on me cuz I work for a different company (we're outsourced). But she just comes in to tell me something and LOOKS at my monitor. WHY? its not your business what im doing!!
Then people who make snide remarks thinking their funny. 'OH you can go back to playing your games' I DON'T PLAY GAMES JERKY!! lol people annoy me!

I used to work with someone like that. We used to call her 'Big Ben' because she would always look at her watch when we came to work in the morning or came back from lunch and say stuff like....'oh, running a little late this morning?' or 'must have had a big lunch b/c it took you so long to get back.' argh....

One day, I got so fed up with her that I screamed out 'What are you Big Ben or something?' Even my boss couldn't help but laugh. That is how the name stuck.

Sure enough, she was fired a few months later b/c even the upper management in the department couldn't stand her.

I hate people that are so into everyone else's business. I do my work.Obviously they have nothing to do if they are checking to see what everyone else is doing.

Drives me nuts. I have told people to stop. Or 'I am working on something important and confidential you cannot stand there and watch!'

We have this on guy who will just sneak up behind you and stare. It can be at what you are working on, your monitor with the screen saver on, stand in my door, whatever. He just stands and stares. He is just a freak...part is to be nosey and part is to be a freak. We learn to ignore him and he eventually goes away or says some freak comment and leaves.

Drives me crazy!

I thank god I have my own office!! but I remember getting caught many a time when I was in a cube!! My co-workers couldnt understand how I could get so much work done and still be on the internet!! I told them I was a great multi-tasker!! LMAO...if they only knew that the job that I had only kept me busy for 1/2 the day!! but dont tell anyone!!

I had someone like that. what was worse was she would complain about everyone and everything and then go ahead and do it herself.

for example she complained to my boss that i am not busy enough and then i catch her on 2 hour lunch breaks, hanging in the pantry chatting away with another co worker, making personal calls (god only knows if they were even calls within the US. I would catcher her talking in spanish so she may have been calling puerto rico as she is puerto rican) etc...

This woman got on my nerves so much. her goal was to make everyone elses life at work miserable.

She would point out everything and i think she enjoyed getting everyone repramanded, then she would go and do it herself, but no one ever said anything about her because we knew she would just go running to the boss and complain about us. I hated her.

I dont remember if she was fired or quite, but thank god she is long gone from that company.

OH MY! After reading your posts, I am so grateful that I have my own office. I always keep the door shut because I am usually in here, watching wedding stories on TV, visiting LIWeddings or making vendor appointments. Everyone on my floor must think I am anti-social.

My monitor used to face the wall but my co-worker still would walk behind me to talk so he could see what I was doing. I started doing the same thing to him and now he stopped!

I get it all the time I will be on here during my prep, and someoen will look over and say WEDDINGS!!!! Your alareday married....Im like uhhhh....... LOL
