CP samples with Stefans and Spitz & Peck, and hair/makeup trial with Fresh Face Forward

Hi Ladies,

I was home on LI over last weekend, and was busy as usual! I did CP samples at Stefans and Spitz & Peck, and also had a hair & makeup trial with Fresh Face Forward.

It's amazing how different people's interpretations can be. I'm posting pics in my album. The first pic is from Stefans, and the 2nd is from S&P. The guy at Stefans was really nice, but honestly it was just so completely NOT what I was looking for at all!!! It was hard to give nice/constructive criticism. I was ready to run away screaming! Then we went to Gary at S&P - he actually made the CP in front of us, so we could have input. I really liked it when I was there, so we decided to book with them.

Then later... I started having 2nd thoughts about the CP... I think it's still not flowy enough for the look I'm going for, and it also looks a bit autumnal, I realized. I think I'm going to talk to him about modifying it, but I'm not that worried that he'll be able to capture what I'm going for. Also I had a hair & makeup trial with Fresh Face Forward. The 2 girls, Stacey and Sabrina, were really nice. We made a few changes and they seemed pretty receptive to our concerns. It took some getting used to seeing myself wearing more makeup! I hope that FH isn't too scared the day of (he likes a natural look). That was my main concern. Also during the trial, I had them do my hair half up/half down, but it didn't seem as full as I thought it would be. Then later, when I was going to bed, I took out the bobbi pins, and my hair looked a lot more voluminous! So I might just do it down with curls on the day of. (Pics also in my album).

i like the 2nd CP. the colors on the 1st one clashes with each other!

what do you call the color of that rose on the 1st CP? it's like orangey-yellow in the body and the tip is dark orange?

Okay, so now I am totally having 2nd thoughts about my hair/makeup trial! I don't know I just feel like in person my skin didn't look radiant.. I felt like I could see my pores. and I wasn't like that thrilled with the hair. I think I liked it more at the time than I like it now. And then when I said I wanted to book them but I had some questions, they sent me the contract, but were unresponsive to my questions. I just kind of felt like there would a lot of things I'd be leaving unknown up to the day of, and I don't feel like I should feel apprehensive about how my makeup/hair is going to be up until like how it comes out (or doesn't) on my wedding day! i'm sure i will be stressed out enough as it is!!

i know a lot of people on here use oksana or m*i*a but i feel like i am really going for a more natural look. can anyone recommend someone they've used that they really loved?

I like your hair and makeup. The only thing is that your hair looks like the curls sorta straightened themselves out in the later pics. Were those pics taken many hours later?

If you tell Oksana you're going for a natural look, she'll probably do that for you. I think a few girls here did trials with Sachiko Yanase in Astoria... she does very natural looking makeup. And she does hair too. I didn't do a trial with her so I can't tell you personally but the makeup pics looked very natural.
