Crafty Wafty ???

My brothers MIL is very crafy, and has this tradition of making this cake for everyone's shower, whether it's a baby shower or bridal shower..

So last month was her 60th, and they threw a big party for her, and I figured the least I can do is make her a cake like she made everyone else !

This one she made for my baby shower :

This is how they are made :

Buy 4-6 (cant remember!) nice bath towels that you think the person would like.

Fold them in 3 the long way.

Then cover that with plastic. I chose plastic tablecloths in 2 colors. The tape was the tricky part. I used this huge clear tape that wasnt sticking well.
Then I rolled up the towels, pretty simple. As each one was rolled, I taped some more, and added little stick-pins to make sure it remained rolled, and firm. I began rolling a new towel where the old one ended.

Then I 'sat up' the cake, and added decorations. The ribbon and flowers I bought at Michaels Crafts.
I also added the pins that have the pearl-y top, to give it an elegant feel.
