Cramping

I'm at 33 weeks, and early this morning I had some pretty bad cramping going on. Just when I got worried enough to call the doctor, I fell asleep, and when my alarm went off I felt much better.

So tell me... should I call my doctor and let him know, or is this just another new, normal thing for me to get used to?

Re: Cramping

Jenn, I would call . Because I am a lunatic and am convinced that they are DYING to know my every move! My guess is this is completely normal. But do what puts your mind at ease.

Re: Cramping

Ahh, call just to get it off your mind. I remember hearing that cramping is contractions (am I right girls?-but doesnt mean youre in labor !) but I also just brushed everything off as my imagination (even when I was in labor I didnt realize it)
Jenn if it will ease your mind, you call girlie!

Re: Cramping

Okay, you two cinched it for me... I'm calling!

But I'll wait till office hours begin so they don't think I'm a total nut (which I suspect they already may ).

Thanks girls! I knew you'd have a quick answer for me!

Re: Cramping

Well I can confirm that you ARE a total nut!

I remember being weirded out when I felt cramps that felt like monthly cramps, and with that we associate bleeding and sure enough I was told that signs of contractions. But its common to have contractions at the stage youre at Jenn..

Re: Cramping

Jenn .... I definitely think you should call. Let the dr tell you its nothing ... then you'll feel better!

Lately, I've been getting some ligament pain (especially during the night) that have been so intense its hard to get up or stretch my legs. Also BH contractions are more intense these days. Could this be what's going on, or are you feeling more like menstrual cramps? All in all, its probably just the baby getting into position. But I always think its better to let them know what's happening.

Then, let us know how you're feeling!

Re: Cramping

I always info my midwife about new feelings, changes or concerns. I figure it cannot hurt to tell her and it is better that she knows how I am feelig and what is really going on for me. I don't call her with any little pain but if I had major cramping I would call in a minute. Better to be safe than sorry is my motto. Plus you are paying these doctors- they are not just friends that you call for advise- and part of their service is to provide you with answers to your questions.

Re: Cramping

I called my doctor, and he said what I'm feeling is perfectly normal. WHEW!
Basically, the cramps I was having were my very first contractions, as the Lima Bean prepares for his or her debut. As long as they stop within an hour, and theres no blood or signs of my water breaking, I am fine.

Thanks for your support as ALWAYS!
