Crate & Barrell

To anyone who is registered there -- what is their return policy on unwanted gifts?

Also, my wedding is 3 1/2 months away. Do you think it's too late to register there? My friends and family know that I'm registered at Fortunoff but I saw a lot of things on the C&B website that I liked. How do I relay the message that I'm registered there too without sounding like I'm fishing for gifts?

Re: Crate & Barrell

Did you have a shower yet? If not, include the info in the shower invites. I don't think 3.5 months is too short of a time.

Re: Crate & Barrell

When we sent out invites, I stuck little cards I made in them with all of our registry information as my mom will never remember where and FMIL refuses to tell people when they ask. Simple to make, just typed out what I wanted, found a cute clip art pic and printed them on card stock so they seemed more professional. I haven't really checked into the return policy b/c so far, I LOVE the items we have received...one thing to note, the glasses we registered for are being discontinued....I received a postcard from C&B about this....so I deleted and changed it on the registry, this was great in reality b/c it hadn't even hit the website yet! They gave me the heads up (totally discontinued IN store, but limited availability online, I chose to not take chances and delete them and pick something else.) before and from what I hear, Fortunoff isn't always that considerate.

HTH

Re: Crate & Barrell

Yes, I already had my shower so I need some other way to tell people. =(

I registered for dishes at Fortunoff but I'm just not liking them anymore and don't really care for any of the others. And I need serving pieces. Wasn't crazy about Fortunoff's selection for those either.

Re: Crate & Barrell

I don't understand if you already had your shower, why you would register at C&B now? Do people still buy presents off the registry for the wedding? My family just gives cards/checkes, no presents at the wedding itself.

I agree about Crate and Barrel though, we considered registering there but decided that we would register for the everyday stuff at Macy's and BedBath&Beyond. For any specialty items or higher-priced things, we'll most likely get them another time.

Re: Crate & Barrell

Well sometimes registries stay open so people can continue to shop off of it for Christmas and stuff. But I agree if you already had your shower it probably wont be worth it. But if not then def register there. Word will get out.
