Creative Compositions
I apologize in advance- I know this company has been posted a million times before but I still don't have the info I need.... Can someone tell me about Creative Compositions?....How much do they charge for a standard package? What does that include? Do you get to keep the proofs? Do they come early? How many proofs do you get approx for those that have used them? lastly, any negative/positive info on them if possible? Thanks so much!

Re: Creative Compositions
I also responded to your forum mail, but for the benefit of anyone else with the same question I figured I ought to answer here as well...I booked with them about a year and a half ago, so I wouldn't feel comfortable talking about prices for packages. I can say that their prices was close to JoVon's at the time, so they are on the high end of cost --- but they are worth every penny. The quality is amazing, and they will treat you like gold.
Their reputation is primarily for taking amazing portraits (which they do!) however I did hire a photojournalist from them, which was SOOOO worth the money, and was the perfect compliment to the formal color photos. I hired Steve for color and Ruth for photojournalism, both are very talented and nice people. (Don't underestimate how important it is that they be nice, you have to share your day with them!!!)
Obviously Ruth took amazing candids (all in black and white) but our main photographer (Steve and then his replacement after table shots) took beautiful color candids as well of the important moments and dancing. The pictures of food were all Ruths, I can't remember any color ones. I'm sure they'd do them if you ask -- I didn't end up using any of those in my album. The detail photos I chose were of the dress, rings, flowers, programs, etc. We had three albums in our contract - Ours with 70 and both parents with 24. Everyone ended up ordering extras because there were so many photos we loved.
Yes I do get to keep the proofs, and I haven't counted but its got to be like 800 or more. I was able to ask for the copyright to be printed on the back, which I appreciated and I suggest doing. (Sometimes its in the lower right corner) They were at my parents house at 7:30 AM to take photos -- my wedding wasn't until noon. They stayed until the last half hour of the party (you don't want any pictures at that point!).
They have been very responsive all along, and incredibly accomodating, which was helpful since I was a long-distance bride.

Re: Creative Compositions
I am using Creative Compositions in two weeks! I think they are great. They are the nicest people to work with! Which really does make a difference. Our engagement picture came out amazing, we were both so happy with it. Another reason I chose them was because they were one of the house photographers of where we are getting married (OHEKA Castle). So they have been there a million times. I really feel comfortable that they know all the great spots to take pictures. The work I have seen done from OHEKA is amazing. I will give a more detailed review after the wedding.
