Crescent Beach Club

Is anyone getting married at The Crescent? Are you a little nervous about the renovations or is it just me?

I am getting married there as well!!! Good thing you brought up the renovations, I forget sometimes because it has been so long since I have been there!!! Would you happen to know specifically what is being done? I can't remember specifically but I know it is supposed to be a beneficial change, I also don't remember being too drastic!! I keep on meaning to call!!!

Outside they're planning on staining all the wood a darker color.
As far as the cocktail area goes, they're blowing out that first wall you see when you come downstairs to have a larger entry and they're filling in the pool so the cocktail area will be twice as large. I believe they're changing all the carpets througout the whole place.
The area outside the ballroom, they're going to make a permanent bar area with a lounge-type of feel. They're getting new carpets and chairs in the ballroom and losing the palm tree motif on the stage.
I'm sure they're only going to improve upon what I already love, but I'm still nervous. I liked the place as-is.
You're using Duet too, right?

I was there for a wedding in July. Sounds like they are really doing some nice renovations. The cocktail hour room will be nicer when it's bigger! I remember there wasn't much seating.

I am also using Duet. To be honest, in my opinion, I feel these changes will be nothing but beneficial!!! Of course, I have to see the finished product but it sounds like some nice renovations!!! I was a little worried because they were kind of vague in telling me exactly what the changes were going to be!!! Then again, I have not been there in quite a few months!!! I was really not the biggest fan of their carpets as well as the palm tree motif, so I am pretty happy to hear they will be changed!!!

ETA: I know they also plan I having two entries; one for the ballroom, one for the restaurant, that idea I like a lot.

Do you know when the renovations are set to be completed? They have definitely added quite a few changes since I have been there last.

I think they're doing the renovations January and February. They should be done by March. Are you planning on getting any hotel rooms near there? I'm going to need to block a bunch of rooms but I'm not sure where yet.

Blocking rooms!!!! Yes, that is my big problem as of now!!! I have no idea where to block them, since there is nothing in the immediate area. I have to take a look at the pamphlet with their recommended hotels. The catering manager told me that I should block rooms at two hotels; one 'high end' perhaps pricey place and one average priced place. This is so we allow our guests the option of the two.

Re: Crescent Beach Club

The only really nice place is the Garden City Hotel, but it's a good half hour away and it's like $300 a night, which I personally think is ridiculous. I've priced the ones on their list and they're all pretty reasonable, around $130 without the block discount. I was just wondering if you knew something I didn't.
After the renovations are done I'm going to go look at the place and check out the hotels and rooms in person (I live in Westchester).
