Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

Hi. Narrowed our 2 places down to Crescent Beach Club in Bayville and Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park...but we cant decide. Both are beautiful. Crescent is a more beautiful exterior, Bridgeview a more beautiful interior. Also the same price we can get for a Friday night in the beginning of May at Crescent, we can get a Saturday night in June at Bridgeview...Has anyone been to either place, any reviews or advice?? Thanks!! :)

Re: Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

Just went to a friend's wedding at The Crescent Beach Club this past summer. The CH was outside and the sunset was GORGEOUS. The view was very impressive. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. All in all, a great summer wedding. My only issue was with the CH food. The selection was kind of dissapointing. There weren't a lot of stations or selections to choose from. There were passed hors deuvers (sp?) but we were lucky if we could flag the waiters down who were carrying them. Then when he finally got to us, there was nothing left. Maybe this could possibly be because of the package they ordered though?

I don't know too much about each place-just make sure whichever place you choose has good indoor and outdoor options....because dear old mother nature has a mind of her own....you're gonna need a good backup plan if it's raining and you wanted outdoor pics.

I would also take into consideration travel for your guests-how far is your ceremony from your reception, if you're not having it right before the cocktail hour? If the 2 places are far from each other you may not have a big turn out at the ceremony.

As much as it's your day, you have to go easy on your guests and try to select a place that won't be too much of a hassle to travel to.

Good luck! Both places are beautiful!

My wedding was at Crescent Beach Club this summer. The food and service were amazing. You're not limited to set menu choices. Within reason, they're able to do just about anything you want. For example, I wanted to do a combined salad/appetizer course with chilled strawberry soup with fruit on the side and a tossed salad. The chef came up with a delicious recipe just for us, even though it wasn't something they had ever offered.

I saw a PP's comment about the CH. That was not our experience. There was ample food during the CH. All of our guests raved about both the CH food and the dinner.

The staff was also wonderful. My designer used the flowers from the throw away bo-k for my hair, so the bridal attendant made a new one for the anniversary dance. Any time DH or I needed anything, the maitre d' or the bridal attendant was right there to take care of it.

I don't have any experience with Bridgeview, though. I'm sure either way your day will be wonderful.

I too am a Bridgeview bride. I was VERY indecisive about where to have our reception until I saw Bridgeview. To be fair I have never been to cresent and have heard wonderful things about it so I dont think you could go wrong w/either or BUT I agree w/Britt & would def prefer a Sat wedding over Fri.

HTH & good luck!

Hi bridgeview brides. Have either of you done a tasting? We are bringing our mom's back this weekend to see it, and are thinking if we should ask them to prepare a dish to try?

Re: Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

I have no experience with Bridgeview but almost booked CC for our wedding!

I have always heard there is A LOT of food at CC. My huge issue was that I was having ceremony on-site and if it was raining on my day (I almost booked mid-May 2010) I would have been heartbroken. I wasn't a huge fan of the inside so the outdoor ceremony was everything to me!

In the end, I chose a different place but still loved CC!

I went to both places while looking for a RH. My DH loved the CC and I did too but I as soon as I walked into Bridgeview I knew THAT was the place. It was one of the best choices I could have made. Everything was beyond perfect!!! My BM was Eric... I cant say enough good things about him. He is THE best! The food was AMAZING!!! And there was sooo much of it! The drinks were great too! We had almost every upgrade you could get... so if you have any questions about that just FM me. The CH and the VH were both so huge and delish! I have pics from my wedding in my album if you want to check them out.

HTH!

Re: Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

(I went to a my step-brother's wedding at Crescent Beach Club. We don't get along and I freely admit that this might have colored my opinions, so take this with a grain of salt).

The ceremony space is truly beautiful, particularly at sunset, though it was buggy. There are a bunch of really great photo-op areas. All of the balconies are great, particularly if your guests like to smoke. The food offerings at the cocktail hour were by far the smallest I have ever seen at a wedding or bar mitzvah. There were very few choices. The main course was okay. Dessert was served family style at each table, which I preferred to a Viennese table (which can equal a long line). I really got the feeling that the venue was so expensive they didn't have money for much else. The room seems empty without lavish decorations. They say it's 'one event at a time' which I guess is technically true. However, the restaurant is still open and the customers can see down to the ceremony/cocktail hour space. I think if you have enough money to add a lot of extras and lavish flower arrangements, it is a really great venue. If it's a stretch, I think it will be more obvious than at other venues.

edited because I'm an idiot.

I did a food tasting already! Everything was wonderful! You do your food tasting while an event is going on to ensure you will be tasting the same food that goes out the day of. I will be back there saturday to negotiate add ons and hopefully sign a check!

fm if you have any questions!

Re: Crescent Club or Bridgeview?

Great! Kathy actually told me she has 2 weddings going on this weekend, and for me to stop by so I can see the place set up. So depending on my work schedule I hope to go in and book it! I'm so glad to hear the food is good!
