Crest Hollow and Chateau Questions to ask b4 Contract

Ok we are down to Chateau Briand or Crest Hollow. FH is going with me to tour the CH since he didnt go on the original appointment.

So my question to everyone is what do I need to ask, discuss, make sure to go over, etc with the two places before a contract is signed. I noticed things about different places like it turns out the TVs at Fox Hollow can only be used by a certain DJ.

Also, I noticed people talked about negotiating prices, etc. How do you go about this? Are there extras that these places are willing to provide I should mention? Is there anything I need to watch out for?

I actually went to both but decided on Crest Hollow. I absolutely loved the grounds and the rooms! I loved their style a lot better.

When i negotiated Crest Hollow they threw in chair covers and outdoor coctail hour and i also had a mashed potato station added.. They also added a pasta course to the main reception as there is not one because i wanted that included. They are pretty good with their negotiations and i got an amazing price..

I was not a fan of Chateau Briand at all. I liked their outside area it is really pretty but thought that their prices were very high, but that is just my opinion.

With the DJ a lot of places do not even have TV's but most DJ's have that included in packages which can be added and will be available to you and the hall allows that as far as i am aware.

Wow you had them throw in outdoor cocktail hour? I'm impressed because that is one of the larger expenses there! Nice work!

I would definitely ask them about house vendors because I know that they like to throw in your contract that there is a fee if you dont use house vendors like your florist for instance. And I have friends who signed the contract and didnt even notice it was there until it came time to book the vendors.

You can have them remove it, just make sure that you read the contract thoroughly.

CHCC had an issue with using florists that weren't their preferred vendors

if you tell them you booked a florist already before u sign the contract, they can't hold you to it

honestly, CHCC was great for food, entertainment, etc. but i did have a lot of headaches with them. they are a business after all, so keep that in mind. they arent really 'personable' at all

my mom had a different experience at the Fox Hollow where we had my shower

also there isnt a fee if you dont use their vendor, yes they want you to use their florist but you can get out of it
