What are you choosing for your menu? Also, are you adding anything to the cocktail hour? For anyone who has already had their reception there, how was everything? Anything I should be extra concerned about?

Crest Hollow Brides
I'm getting married at Crest Hollow two months from today - can't wait! We met with CH a couple of weeks ago to set the menu. For dinner, we're having the salmon, chicken (some kind of 'rolled up' dish) and prime rib. We didn't opt for any of the 'add-ons' - which seemed a lot more expensive than I remembered from when we booked them last year. I've heard wonderful things about the food at Crest Hollow and think it will be plentiful as is. They seem very protective of their reputation and I can't imagine they wouldn't put out a fabulous spread even without the 'extras'.

Could you tell me what some of the 'add-ons' are and how much they cost? Did they provide you with a list of these items?

Add-ons - Irene
They showed us a list (I'm not sure if they gave it to us or just showed it) but there were definetly no prices on this list. I don't remember exactly what things cost, but I believe cookie trays were @$4.00, pastry/fruit trays were @$5.00, frozen drink hut @$5.00 and the Vienese Hour was @$8.00. I think to get filet mignon it was @$5.00. You could also add things to the cocktail hour such as seafood boat, extra dishes, etc. or you could upgrade the different courses, e.g., instead of the appetizers on the menu they gave you when you booked, you could have shrimp cocktail, or something like that. Plus they had a book of cakes you could get instead of the cake they offer you. They looked to be @$800. Frankly, I liked the cake the offer the best anyway. It is a traditional white tiered cake - you get to pick the filling.

Im also getting married there this June. Im going to call jeff tomorrow and ask about the seafood boat for the cocktail hour. My friend was married there two years ago and she said it cost her $20 dollars a person for the seafood boat!! I have to check it for myself because I find it hard to believe. Have you picked up your directionals for your invitations or the table cards?

No, I have not picked up those things yet. Have you? Did you use any of the vendors they recommend?

I don't remember how much the seafood boat was exactly, but I remember thinking it was a lot. And don't forget, if they say it's only $15.00 head, with tax/tip that comes to over $19.00 per person. My fiance was almost hooked on the Viennese table, but when we figured out the total cost, I convinced him to pass on it. CH mailed me the direction cards (actually they're slips of paper) and the table cards.

I went to a wedding there last Friday evening, it was very nice. The cocktail hour was on the main floor and the reception was in the room near the pool. My only slight complaint was our 'server' did not speak great English and therefore could not elaborate on the dinner selections, (which were a bit on the cold side)

Crest Hollow bride here. Getting married next May. Outdoor ceremony, and outdoor cocktail hour. Should be nice. What rooms are you guys having your reception in? Crest Hollow has given my name to tons of vendors. I am starting to get pissed. I get a call every day. It`s not bad at first, but it`s getting annoying!!

I got married there....
And loved it!!! Everything went incredibly smoothly! Just be forewarned that they absolutely stick to the schedules. They do NOT run late, not even a minute. This is good, because that is the way they ensure that no bride sees another bride, but it is also somewhat annoying, because I did feel rushed to start the ceremony when we weren't really ready yet. But, it was okay anyway. The food was excellent - chose the salmon, chicken, and prime rib. Everyone loved the food tremendously. The only thing I added on was the cookie tray for the tables (it wasn't much more, and it was a little extra that was classy and definitely worth it). I had thought about the Viennese table, but it wasn't worth it. I used the cake they give you, and it was absolutely beautiful. A four-tiered very classy white cake, which was absolutely delicious!!! (Comes out beautiful in pictures, by the way.) My ceremony was in one of the banquet rooms (it was supposed to be outside, but it was raining), and it looked gorgeous - they really do a great job setting it up - I wasn't even involved at all with the setting up, and it was absolutely beautiful. Cocktail hour was in the Emerald Room downstairs - perfect!!! Reception was in the one half of the main ballroom upstairs - The Plaza, I think. It was gorgeous - I especially loved it, because my wedding was an afternoon wedding, and once you went into that room, as there were no windows, it felt like nighttime, and it was classy that way. Just stunning. The day rushed by, and the bridal attendants were life savers, and worked their tails off. If you have any questions, I would be happy to give you any advice I can. You've chosen a wonderful place to have your wedding, rest assured. You can e-mail me directly at '[email protected]' Good luck!

Thanks for all of the great info. We love the Crest Hollow, but unfortuneately don't know anyone personally who has been married there recently. I am glad to hear that the cake is beautiful. We have not decided about the menue yet, but we are going to have the Viennese- hopefully it will be worth it. How was the cocktail hour food- and was there a lot of it?

Im very happy with Danny at Pedestals, when I went to him with a picture of my BM's dresses he had such creative Ideas in one second. Actually much better then what I was thinking! As for Cassarino, I wasnt on this site yet when I booked them and have read a lot of negative things about them. I havent had one problem with them and Jodi is my photographer. Who do you have? I also got a ton of stuff for my money. Do you know when the Crest Hollow calls you to start going over the menu? I'm starting to get antsy about everything!

We met with Danny at Pedestals as well, he really helped us out a lot decding on centerpieces. I'm sure they will be beautiful. As for Cassarino, I have been reading the negative feedback as well. But, we really liked the albums that we saw and I'm sure the pictures will be great and they were good about putting some other items we needed into the package. I can't remember our photographers name right now, its not Jodi though. We are using them for video too. Good luck with the rest of your planning!! It's nice to find someone having their reception in the same place in the same month. Do you have your dress yet?

I have the Suburban room that is upstairs. I was looking at the menu and realized that there seems to be alot of food for the cocktail hour. I`m also hppy to hear that the cake is good. I had Flowers by Brian call me, and they said they were the house florist for the Crest Hollow. I was told by the banquet manager that Pedestals is the florest they use. I was wondering what the prices you were quoted from pedestals for your centerpieces and boquets? I have a feeling they are going to be pricey.

I don't actually remember the prices off hand - we are getting high centerpieces though. However, Pedestals asked us how much we wanted to spend and he told us what we could expect as far as amount of flowers, etc. for that price. I got several phone calls from Flowers by Brian as well. Both places were actually on Crest Hollow's recommended list. I never went to Flowers by Brian - but I guess it can't hurt to visit them both and see what you think. The menu does sound great for the cocktail hour. Good luck with your planning!Welcome New Vendors
