Crest Hollow Brides

Original post by cg511

Have any of you seen the choices for cakes? I've read on previous posts that you have to pay extra for certain cakes. Does anyone know anything about that or have pictures of their cake from a Crest Hollow wedding?

Thanks.

hehe..that's my cutie baby brother giving the best man toast with the tiered cake. I am pretty positive my brother and SIL did not pay extra for their wedding cake and picked from CH's selections.

Lol.

Those cakes are actually really really pretty. I have no problem saving the money!

I'm also a Crest Hollow Bride. Thanx for the pic. I was wondering what the included cake looks like. It isn't as bad as I thought. I wonder how much extra they charge for other cakes though. How far in advance is everyone going to pick out their food??

Girls,

I went to CH tonight and this is what I found out. The cake is included, but if you want the special icing (marsipone sp???) it is more money.

As far as the hotels go, I checked out three tonight. I went to the Fox Hollow Inn and fell in love with it. I think that is where FH and I will stay. We also looked at the Best Western. It was ok. I liked the fact that it was so close to the CH. The last place that we looked was the Marriot Residence Inn. That was nice, but a little pricey. I am going to check out the Huntington Hilton as well.

Jennifer,

My BM is Charles. I love him! HE said that I need to come back in August to do all the party planning. I was there almost 2 hours tonight

Who is yours? Did you pick out your food yet?

Jodi, my BM is also Charles. He's a nice guy! We haven't picked out our food yet, but we'll probably go there the end of this month to pick everything out. I'm not sure if that's too early though. Which room are you using?? I'm in the Suburban room.

Hi girls! The stacked cake on this thread was mine! It was very good. We had devils food cake with fudge filling. Don't waste your money on the fancier cake. I heard that marzipan icing or whatever it is called is gross to eat anyway! JMO

Also, we used The Best Western for our guests, which was fine. We also used the Huntington Hilton for ourselves and hated it. Please do a search under the Hilton and you will find other brides besides myself who did not have a good experience there.

You can forum mail me with any ??s you have about the Crest Hollow. We loved it there, everything was perfect.

Jodi- I have been hanging out on the Newlyweds side. But, I post if it is something I can comment on- like Crest Hollow or any of my vendors. Or Aruba where I honeymooned.

Hey...I have Charles too! Love the guy! Very sweet. I'm in the Suburban also. I went to go see it last week...I forgot how beautiful it is!

I haven't been there yet to pick my menu or anything..I have tons of questions I guess I should be preparing for.

Did anyone ask about cookie trays for the tables? How much were they?

Re: Crest Hollow Brides

I'm sorry, I'm not a Crest Hollow Bride, but I go to Fox Hollow whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I just go in and say I need to look at my room before I book a vendor or something, LOL, they let me right in!

Edited to say: you're paying all this money to have your wedding there, even if you are being a 'pain' they should still let you check EVERYTHING out whenever you want! Enjoy looking at the place!

Re: Crest Hollow Brides

I think the cookie trays were about 3-4 per person. I am having my reception in the Empire Room. It is the room without windows.

The Empire room is the other half of Suburban...it opens up to become the huge ballroom! I love it.

You don't need an excuse..just show up to pick up your direction cards and ask to see it! I found that Sunday early afternoon is the best time to go....or a weeknight.

Hi!! I'm a CH bride too. I'm in the Empire room too. Love the new room.

I booked rooms at the Fox Hollow Inn and the Executive Inn (it's owned by the same people as the Best Western) they gave me a better deal-
Love the Fox Hollow Inn!!! It's gorgeous + breakfast is included. I thought the rooms would be a little bit bigger (for getting ready w/ the girls) Lord knows, we won't need much space on the wedding night

Re: Crest Hollow Brides

Regarding the cake, my cake was definitely included, and it was absolutely beautiful! It was a four-tier all white cake, and was stunning!

Regarding hotels, the Fox Hollow Inn wasn't built yet when I got married, or I definitely would've looked there. I didn't like the look of the Best Western, so I used the East Norwich Inn, on Route 106 - it's REALLY beautiful, and quaint, and only a few minutes to Crest Hollow. I made up little direction cards on how to get from the hotel to the wedding. By the way, I had my 'rehearsal' dinner at the Huntington Hilton (and all of my out of town guests were invited), so I made up little direction cards from the hotel to that too. I also stayed at the Hungtinton Hilton the night before - it's not that far, but was a little pricey.

Go look at the East Norwich Inn - it's definitely worth it, and they treated myguests like gold!

I went to the Fox Hollow the other night and I fell in love with it. I love it. FH and I are going to stay there on our wedding night!

Jodi, if you don't mind me asking, how much does the Fox Hollow charge for one night?? Feel free to FM me if you like.

Re: Crest Hollow Brides

Jennifer,

It is 259 a night for the bridal suite and 239 for a regular room. This was the rack rate since I just walked in off the street. I do have the number of the sales manager and I am going to call this week.

Jodi
