For those who are using the house cake from Dortoni:

- When did you go in for your tasting?
- What flavor options do they give you? Do they charge extra for custom flavors?
- Do they charge extra for square cakes?
- Can I supply them with cake bling bands?

i never did the tasting, we wanted basic white cake and chocolate filling and tried it at one of the expo's and enjoyed it so that was a check for us.

if i remember we had a choice of fillings - chocolate mouse, cannoli, lemon, and whipped cream w/ fresh strawberries.

as for the extras, like cake bling and having it square go to the bakery and talk to them yourself. cause if you ask through CHCC they WILL charge you extra, if you go there yourself - even bring your own bling ive heard they dont make a big deal about it and dont charge anything.

There is no official tasting. I went to Dortoni and said I was a Crest Hollow bride and asked to try flavors.

Based on what we had we decided we wanted the peanut butter mousse. Crest Hollow allows you to have one filling flavor at no cost. We didnt pay more for peanut butter mousse.

My cake was square and there was no extra cost.

I assume you can supply with cake bling but im sure there will be an extra cost to put it on.

I just thought about this..I'm having my florist do flowers on the cake. Does CHCC charge to put them on? Does my florist do that? Does anyone know how this works?!

If you are just having flowers the florist puts them on and there should be no additional charge :)

So you just call the bakery and tell them you are a CHCC bride and you want to do a tasting and see the cake?
how do you know whats included or do they know at the bakery??

The bakery won't show you the cake that is included. You do that at your menu meeting at crest hollow which us about 2 months from the wedding.

Maybe call your BM and ask what kind of fees they would add for the bling, then call Dortoni and see if they charge. I'd really hope that the answers aren't different. I wouldn't be too happy

if you try to add the bling through chcc they WILL charge you, when you go to taste fillings ask the bakery yourself if they will charge you, especially if you provide the bling. i have heard a few girls who asked themself and were no charged for it, but when you ask your BM they will charge you.

we went with the basic cake, white cake with chocolate moose. figured that was safe too with so many people and allergies and all.

kinda funny tho, you dont get charged if you want the cake smoothed out and flowers added, but when you want it smoothed out and a ribbon of bling added you do lol
