Is anyone getting married at crest hollow country club 2012.
Thought this would be a great way to help each other out with our vendors, flower, photographer, music Etc.
This can be just so over whelming.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
I am! I know, it seems like we have a universe of choices! How the heck to make the right one?!?!
I recently booked with their preferred florist, Flowers by Brian. Everyone says they're on the pricier side, but I booked on the spot because I loved the service (I felt that my vision was truly understood!) and the price was reasonable for the level of service I felt I would get!
I have yet to book anything else but would be curious as to if anyone else is using any of their preferred DJs.
Congrats on booking and have fun planning!

I am booked at crest hollow
I am not using any of their preferred DJs. I heard them and they were definitely not for us. We are using Ray from Variety Music and we love him

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
Just booked CHCC and church, and am trying to budget myself with everything else. FH and I wanted to go with a friend for photogtaphy, but our BM Sharon said everyone needs insurance. does anyone know if there are affordable vendors with insurance?

crashing... im getting married at chcc in 7 weeks they never mentioned anything to us about vendors having insurance...the only thing we were told is that we must use a house florist and everything else was up to us. we are not using any of their preferred vendors. they did tell us to bring a vendor list tomorrow night though so maybe that is when they check up on it....

See if they'll let your friend sign a waiver that they won't sue or anything and that CHCC isn't responsible for any damage. They might let you do this if they know the situation.
I'm a CHCC bride too And I have Sharon!

It is pretty starndard that a venue will require all vendors on premeise to be livensed. Honestly, I would be very hesitant to have any vendor that does not have insurance. But then again that is the lawyer in me. I have seen what happens when things go bad and I try to do things to avoid it!

I would think that having a friend provide a service may be a loophole in the rule. Especially if your friend is an attending guest as well. Some people opt not to use photo/video services (I am reminded of the days of disposable cameras on the table), so I think if you present it as, you want your friend to take some pics of you, rather than you are hiring your friend as your photographer??? I think that would be fine. As far as I am concerned, they can't stop you from posing for pictures, and they can't stop your friend from taking them!

ITA with this...its one thing if your friend was a DJ and they were bringing in their own equipment etc but a guest at your wedding can bring a camera and take pictures of you without insurance... the catch may be if you want to go early for pics...

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
Look at your contract. There is a provision that says with regard to the florist you have to use a preferred vendor.

Hm that is so weird...I dont know why Leo told me then that they just need to have insurance!!! Also another random thing.. I saw on a previous thread that they now provide uplighting in the rooms..do you know anything about this? We booked our DJ with an uplighting package and am wondering if I should try and see if this removable if CHCC can provide it themselves!

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
I would contact your BM and ask him how much it is to use the uplighting in the room. If it is cheaper than what your DJ is giving it to you I would try to get the DJ to take that our of the contract. But remember you signed a contract so you can not make the DJ remove the uplighting.

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
When I booked they mentioned uplighting was in all the rooms now--is there an extra charge for this or no? I don't think it's in the contract as a charge, I was under the impression it was part of having the room..

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
Ok just spoke to someone and they told me that in the Plaza room the chandeliers on the walls and the main chandeliers have led strips that can be set to certain colors...and that comes with the room..Did you get a chance to see this in person? As far as the total room uplighting I was told that they are working on setting it up and getting the equipment to get the total system running and they do not have a set price for it since it is not fully installed. Not sure what that means... LOL

Re: Crest Hollow Country Club Brides
I am excited to here that you can set the color of the lights in the Plaza Room. I like the uplighting but since we are paying for the wedding uplighting was something that we could not justify spending money on.
Excited that I will get some blue lights!
