Crest Hollow disaster this weekend!!!
A friend of mine at work just told me that they went to a wedding at Crest Hollow this weekend, and it was horrible, and that later, they saw a report on the news that there was food poisoning at Crest Hollow. Has anyone heard this? Please let us know all about it!!! I had my wedding there, and I'm horrified about this!

Read all about it in Newsday!!!
This taken directly from Newsday.com site: Eleven Sickened At Wedding Nassau health officials are investigating why eleven people suffered reactions after eating a fish dinner at a wedding reception in Woodbury last night. According to Nassau police, the eleven people, ranging in age from 13 to 51, suffered flushed skin and rashes, shortness of breath, upset stomachs and other symptons after eating a Tilapia fish dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club. The victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said.

Crest Brides...
I just want to say not to get all upset over this - I didn't get married there but this can happen ANYWHERE!! My sister got married at the Milerage Cottage and a friend of mine had her wedding there a year before and they had over 30 people with food poisioning. Of course they got a full refund! But my point being my sisters wedding was perfect. Again this can happen at any wedding hall.

I agree
Didn't mean to freak anyone out by posting the story. Yes, it can happen anywhere, I agree with JuneBride. But you shouldn't let it bother you. Chances are, there'll be more careful eyes now, so relax, enjoy the planning, and know your day will be great!!

Crest Hollow disaster this weekend!!!
I also didn't want to freak anyone out over this - my wedding there was beautiful and the food was great!!! I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about it. Good luck to all brides, and don't worry about it. But, you might want to find out about that particular fish they served, and might want to avoid it....

Crest Hollow disaster this weekend!!!
That fish was not even on the 'possible selection' menu for us. Maybe it was special ordered. The food was great when we got married there.

Future Crest Hollow Bride
Our wedding will be there this coming February, and although I think its was horrible that 11 people got sick, hopefully this publicity will make Crest Hollow more careful so that this doesn't happen again. Everyone I know has told me that the food there is normally wonderful.

It really is. And, I've heard nothing but compliments on my wedding, which was last September, at Crest Hollow. Don't worry.

OK, I just met with Jeff (one of the banquet managers) last night. He was outraged and told me the fish was for a glatt kosher wedding, which means that the fish was brought in from a glatt kosher place and approved by the rabbi that was marrying the couple. Basically, he was saying that it`s not their fault. He also said that they are suing the newspapers that printed this article before getting the full story. I don`t know how much of what he said is true (...and for those of you who worked with Jeff, should know what I mean) but since I`m getting married there in about a week and would like to believe him.

Hannah 1 - Don't Worry
I read that this fish was a special kosher fish and that it had probably been left sitting for this to happen (I don't know whose fault it was, but I'm sure they will be VERY careful in the near future to avoid any further bad publicity, so don't worry).Welcome New Vendors
