Hello ladies, I have a dress question (actually under the dress question) I bought my dress overseas while on vacation. I really like it. The only issue I have that it comes with a HOOP underskirt. I think it will be very uncomfortable. Below is the pic of another bride in my dress. The dress is full and I think I defiantly need to wear a crinoline under it. What do you honestly think about the hoops? Should I start looking for another crinoline? Do you know any places where I can get it?
I would contact a seamstress, she (or he) would probably be better to ask about this-although I would think that adding crinoline would be relatively easy.
I think hoops are very cumbersome, personally it would drive me insane having one under a gown.
Good luck!

Re: Crinoline with Hoops under the dress
I agree... def. ask your seamstress... the hoops will get very uncormortable. I know they make puffy slips without the hoops... Jsut don't know where yet. I'm having a hard time finding one that's not 260!! lol

Dani there's an ebay store called Your Dream Dress, they sell all store sample gowns, accessories, etc. They usually have a ton of slips for sale too. They have a great seller rating and I think their return policy is fair. Definitely check them out.

I wore a hoop underneath my sweet 16 dress and it wasnt bad. I actually liked it, bc it gave my legs and feet space underneath my dress, was easier to 'pick'up dress from the sides, and I didnt have to worry about tripping.

I agree the hoop might be a bit much all night. I have heard of girls wearing more then one crinoline under their dress so that it is full. Also I think that you can get crinolines with different amounts of layers. So you might want to look into getting one with extra layers in it.

Re: Crinoline with Hoops under the dress
My biggest mistake was not wearing a hoop skirt underneath my ball gown. It was a disaster during our formal portrait shoot on the day of the wedding. The photographers had to constantly lift the train of my gown to make sure I don't trample over the dress. I had to wrap and hold the hems of the dress so that I can walk back and forth. The problem with wearing a ball gown is the puffiness of the skirt. You need to wear the crinoline/hoop skirt to keep the dress from drooping down. It maintains the puffiness of the skirt and actually holds it so you don't trip over or fall on top of your dress. If you don't wear it, you'll have a very hard time trying not to trip over your dress and you end up dragging the material underneath your shoes. Hope the advice help!
