Cruise Advice

FH and I are going on a 9 day cruise 4 our honeymoon. everyday we are at port I signed up for a shore excursion (ie. swimming w/ dolphins, parasailing, etc.). Now I am regreting signing up for so much stuff. originally we were supposed to go to an all-inclusive and one of our flights were cancelled so the cruise was kinda last minute. Ive never been on a cruise b4 and neither has FH. Do you think I will be sorry for planning something everyday and having to wake up so early? Any cruise advice would be appreciated.

Re: Cruise Advice

How many days of the cruise are you at sea? It may be tough if every day you were out but if you have at least one or two days at sea you can use that time to relax and unwind. Best of luck! I see you are getting married a day before me.

Re: Cruise Advice

It won't be a problem at all - I do excurions all the time -

Remember the excursions in the carribean tend to be only 3-4 hours - so if you do it in the morning you would have the rest of the day to lay by the pool etc - I usually do the catamarans and snorkeling and go in the mornings I am done by lunch time and can spend the rest of the day by the pool or relaxing on my balcony - what cruise are you taking? what cruiseline?

Its Norweigan Cruise Lines. The name of the ship is the Dawn and we are going to the Bahamas.

Re: Cruise Advice

You will be fine doing excursions everyday...Most of the excursions are only day trips where you are doing something for the most 5 hours...You will have plenty of time to relax...Norweigan Dawn leaves NY & you are at sea for at least one day prior to docking in your first port & the same coming back. Take the time to do things that you will always remember....Don't worry about the sleeping in factor. FH & I just got back from our cruise on Tuesday & every morning we were up by 7:30. It is hard to sleep when you know that there is something exciting awaiting you! Enjoy every moment & can't wait to see pictures!!

By the way, my parents went on Norweigan dawn in May & they loved it. They are talking about going back in March!

Re: Cruise Advice

Here are pics of your boat docked in Nassau (we took them from our balcony on the Century on our delayed honeymoon in August as we were pulling into port)

Re: Cruise Advice

I don't think you planned too much. I mean you want to be able to enjoy all 9 days. My FH and I are going on a caribbean cruise too and this will be the first cruise for both. We've already talked about getting as much done as possible b/c we want to enjoy every single minute of it.

You should definitely continue as planned...and when you get back from the HM, then you can sleep and relax all you want.
