Re: cruise lines?
I took a Holland America cruise once. Very posh, flawless service, delicious food (and tons of it). Does attract an older crowd, though (just so you know).

Re: cruise lines?
Cheapest is Carnival. Nicest, in my opinion is Celebrity.I have cruised twice. My honeymoon was on Royal Caribbean and if you really want to know how horrible it was, FM me. I will never cruise with them again. Horrible service.
When DH and I went on a celebrity cruise last year, everyone fell over themselves to help you. I cannot recommend them enough. The irony of it all is that they are both the same company Celebrity and Royal Caribbean - what a difference a name makes!!

Re: cruise lines?
Celebrity is very 'rugrat' friendly. Check with the travel agent vendors on this board and then check the websites for fares! I was told you usually get the best deals on cruises at 6 months prior to departure date and again at the one or two month marks.
Good luck and enjoy.

Re: cruise lines?
We went with Royal Carribean.. We had a blast... the service was exceptional, and the food wasto die for... we hit hurricane force winds and didn't feel a thing...I definately reccommend searching for the cruise you want to go on discount sites like www.vacationstogo.com...... Thats what I did, then I posted a question abouthte line and the location and I had Dawn from Cruise one FM... She beat the price I gave her and even threw in a bottle of wine...
I will always use them in the future!!
ETA: DEFINATELY GET A BALCONY ROOM!!!!! It is a little bit more expensive, but VERY romantic.... You can also ask about upgrading to a balcony room after you book.. Good Luck!

Re: cruise lines?
I have been told by someone that has been on almost every major cruise line over the past few years (she loves cruises) that Royal Carribean was the best one - the nicest, cleanest, nicest ships, most things to do.There's also a website called iCruise.com
I never used it - saw it advertised on a billboard near the dock in NYC where the cruise ships all dock.

Re: cruise lines?
Good Luck picking a cruise! Next week we will be on our 12th. Another good web site is cruisecritic.com they have people rating all the different lines. For us we love Royal. This will be our 6th. If you are looking to travel with children Disney is a must! Enjoy and think of us next week

Re: cruise lines?
I've been on three cruises so far. The first was Disney~absolutely the best ever. The food, especially the desserts were delicious. We never saw the kids on the boat because they have a babysitting service to 1 am. The only thing was this cruise was expensive @ 2,000/per person (balcony room). The second cruise was Carnival out of Puerto Rico. What a nightmare! We went on the Destiny, what a piece of garbage. We had a window room. The service was horrible, bad food and unfriendly people. I will never sail Carnival again.
Our last cruise was this summer on Princess. This was an excellent cruise line...very close to Disney. The boat was great, Golden Princess, friendly people, generous waiters, and a beautiful room (balcony). We flew to Puerto Rico again but this was a much better experience with Princess. We also spent less money with Princess this year than we did with Carnival. If I'm cruising again, it will be with Princess...they have a new boat called Caribbean Princess.
I would definately recommend the balcony...it really adds to your room and it's nice to be out there to relax.
Some good websites with amazing prices are vacations2go.com and buycruises.com

I haven't been on a cruise yet either, but I've heard good things about Radisson Seven Seas, Crystal, and Windsong. I think they're really expensive as well. THere's a really good website to check out: Cruise CriticWelcome New Vendors
