Re: Cruise people!!
I went on Royal Caribbean-Adventurer of the Seas. It left out of Puerto Rico and went to the Southern Caribbean which included Aruba, Curacao, St. Marteen, St. Thomas. It was wonderful. I hadn't been on a cruise since I was little and things have certainly changed. I honestly didn't want it to end. The best part for me was how incredibly nice the staff was. The service was by far the best I have ever encountered. The food was good, not five star but enjoyable. And there were endless activities. I am definitely planning another cruise in the future. Oh, and we had a balcony room which was great, I don't think I would get anything less in the future.

Re: Cruise people!!
We have been on a few, but it is my mom who is the cruise expert. She averages 3 a year and has been to every island in the carribean. She has also cruised to Latin America, Mexico (both east & west coast), South America, and Bermuda. Her favorite is Celebrity Cruise Lines. It is a bit fancier then some of the others, but they are known to have the best food. We took a Celebrity cruise out of NY for our 1st Anniversary to Bermuda and loved it. I have been on newer, bigger ships then the Zenith, but the food & service were superb! Bermuda is amazing - it is so beautiful. In fact, I would go back to Bermuda again before going to another island in the Caribbean. Next cruise we take we think we are going to go on is a Royal Carribean (same owners as Celebrity), should be nice, food we have heard is one teir down, but there is a younger crowd and tons to do.

Re: Cruise people!!
Chris and I went on a Carnival cruise when we were dating, it was our first 'real' vacation together. So a lot of people will tell you to stay away from Carnival, but you know what, we had a blast! It is very young and definately a party cruise line. There were a ton of families on our ship, lots of family reunions. I would definately recommend going on one of their newer ships. Some of the old ones are pretty run down. Our ship was huge and very nice. Food was decent - no better or worse then say Sandals. We went out of Miami and went to San Juan (which we didn't like at all), St. Thomas, and St. John. It was a lot of fun.

Golden Princess (Princess cruises)out of San Juan...going to Barbados St Luica St Marteen St Thomas Antigua
We had a great time at these islands... we only had 1 day at sea. It rained all of 2 mins while in St Luica. Great beaches, tours were great. Princess was great after many recomandations. Food, serivce, friendlness as 10's. I got a great rate from a vendor here if you want to fm me, i can give ya more details.
We have always gone RCCL-Explorer, Voyager, Splendor. DH is hooked. I want to try Carnival, when we are at ports I always meet up on the beach with fun people who are on carnival. DH likes to relax and I want Spring Break.

Re: Cruise people!!
I took a Carnival cruise quite a few yeaers ago and wasn't crazy about it - but I think it all depends on what type of 'atmosphere' you are looking for
We took Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. We did the 10 day cruise on Voyager of the Seas that left from NJ and cruised down to Haiti (their private island, which was GORGEOUS) Jamaica, Bahamas and Grand Cayman
It was a perfect trip in every way possible and we were treated like a king and a queen!
My parents have taken TONS of cruises (all leaving from NY) and they love Celebrity and Norweigan

Re: Cruise people!!
I went on a Carnival cruise...Ship was Fantasy. I also went with 5 other single girls ( I went back 4yrs ago). The cruise was out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It went to: St. Thomas: Thumbs up! Antingua: Was nice Guadalupe: Wouldnt go back & Aruba: AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL! It also happened to be our long day at one of the islands. From 8am-10pm We went during spring break from K-12th grade so you can imagine our dissappointment when meeting 17/18yrs olds and we were 24. Nothing like spring break to us..though we wished it was.
I would love to do it again now that I have someone and FH is dying to go on a cruise. There is food EVERYWHERE and lots to do, gamble, dancing, comedy shows, etc.
I recommend them and would do it again.

Re: Cruise people!!
For our Honeymoon in 2003 we did: Celebrity Cruise to Bermuda. The name of the ship was Horizon.
Last year we did the Norwegian Dawn cruise to Florida and the Bahamas.
This year in July we are going on the Carnival Legend to San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola.
As for which cruise we liked the most, well we have different opinions. We liked both ships for different reasons. Celebrity we liked the food and service better, it really is top notch. The Norwegian Dawn was sooooooo much bigger and I liked the decor better. Also Norwegian is a different type of crusing, it's freestyle cruising, which sounds good but I found I was really crazy about that type of cruising but we had a great time and the entertainment was excellent.....

The cruise was amazing. The staff was so nice, the food was delicious, the bars were fun. I would do it all over again.

You know what I wasn't crazy about the Bahamas...Maybe it's because of the part we stopped in. We were in Nassau which I found to be dirty...was not impressed. The only thing I liked was the Atlantis Hotel on paradise island. The private island on the bahamas that norwegian owns was also nice.

Re: Cruise people!!
Almost 2 years ago now I went on Celebrity's Zenith to Bermuda from the NY port. It was great - Bermuda is such a nice place and Celebrity does really treat you like a Celebrity.
The best thing about Celebrity to Bermuda is that they do use the smaller ships; and the smaller ship is that there is 1 dock in Bermuda that only the smaller ship can get into - that dock is closer to the action and only 2 ships can get into at a time. Bermuda is shaped like a hook, and if you think of all of the action in the lower cup portin of the hook, you dock there. Otherwise, if you are on a larger ship, they cannot fit into that dock and you have to goto the naval port, that is all the way at the top of the fishhook. From there, you need to take a taxi everytime you get off the ship to go down to the shops, etc.
For the honeymoon we took Celebrity's Century on the western carribean. Although we had to miss one island due to the hurricaines (the island was too torn up) we just spent an extra day at another island and it was great.
I recommend cruising for anyone, and especially on celebrity. I'm the type of person that sometimes wants to lay around and do nothing,a nd sometimes be active. Being on a cruise gives you that - best of both worlds!
