Almost 2 years ago now I went on Celebrity's Zenith to Bermuda from the NY port. It was great - Bermuda is such a nice place and Celebrity does really treat you like a Celebrity.

The best thing about Celebrity to Bermuda is that they do use the smaller ships; and the smaller ship is that there is 1 dock in Bermuda that only the smaller ship can get into - that dock is closer to the action and only 2 ships can get into at a time. Bermuda is shaped like a hook, and if you think of all of the action in the lower cup portin of the hook, you dock there. Otherwise, if you are on a larger ship, they cannot fit into that dock and you have to goto the naval port, that is all the way at the top of the fishhook. From there, you need to take a taxi everytime you get off the ship to go down to the shops, etc.

For the honeymoon we took Celebrity's Century on the western carribean. Although we had to miss one island due to the hurricaines (the island was too torn up) we just spent an extra day at another island and it was great.

I recommend cruising for anyone, and especially on celebrity. I'm the type of person that sometimes wants to lay around and do nothing,a nd sometimes be active. Being on a cruise gives you that - best of both worlds!

Celebrity is the best! They may not be as fancier looking but the food and service is top notch. We felt like royalty on the Celebrity Horizon...We loved our waiter the best and tipped him more than we did the others.

WE only have used celebrity. I have been on the Horizon and Zenith. They were excellent and are known for their great food and service.

You know what I wasn't crazy about the Bahamas...Maybe it's because of the part we stopped in. We were in Nassau which I found to be dirty...was not impressed. The only thing I liked was the Atlantis Hotel on paradise island. The private island on the bahamas that norwegian owns was also nice.

I feel the exact same way! I have been a couple of times: on a cruise and once on spring break. The only way I will go back to the Bahamas is if I stay at Atlantis. Otherwise I found the island very dirty and rundown. Although there is a Sandals resort on a different Bahama island then Nassau that looks awesome and I have heard great things about.

Celebrity Cruises (Zenith) from NY to Bermuda. 7 nights. The ship is one of the smallest in their line - so not as many ammenities as on the larger ones, but the service was amazing. I loved this cruise.
DH proposed on this cruise.

Royal Caribbean (Adventurer of the Seas) from San Juan, Aruba, Curacao, St. Maartin, St. Thomas and back to San Juan. 7 nights. This is one of the largest in their fleet - there are miles of things to do onboard. The service DH and I received on this ship was absolutely deplorable!! People at the spa were rude to us, our stateroom attendants left our door propped open thru-out an entire day that we were in port, and guest services did nothing about it at all. They made DH and I never want to sail with them again. This was part of our HM, which made it even worse.

Yeah it depends on which part of the Bahamas you are in. My best friend had warned me that Nassau was dirty and nasty. But Atlantis was beautiful. We went on a tour and that was one of the stops. It really is a gorgeous Hotel and the casino is really nice too.

We have been on Royal Carribean to Western Carribean, majesty of the seas. Fabulous experience. Itinerary is Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Mexico.

We have been on Celebrity twice. Once to Bermuda. Very nice to be able to leave from NY without flying. However, because you are sailing the Atlantic, the water can be rough. When we went, we were the only people on our ship not feeling sick. But, food great, service impeccable. Bermuda, beautiful. Their ships have a Martini Bar--too fun!

Second cruise was Southern Carribean. We went to St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, St. Lucia. This itinerary was the best by far. Again, great service and food.

the only thing that seemed better about Royal Carribean, which is sort of silly, was the pictures. All of our pictures came out great on Royal Carribean and were cheaper to purchase too.

If I were going again, soon, I'd want to take one of the new Royal Carribean ships like Adventure of the Seas. you can't beat all those new features. Ice Skating, Rock Climbing, Roller blading.

Other thought, there were no kids on Celebrity as compared with RCCL

Re: Cruise people!!

I booked a cruise leaving out of NJ in October to go to Bermuda on Royal Carribean. I am terrified thatI will get sick. We left from NY last year around the same time to go to Canada and there was a storm so the waters were really rough and I felt sooooo sick but I took Drammamine and felt better...but what if the waters are bad on my HM and I get sick

I've only been on 1 cruise- but last January FH and I went on the Norweigan Sky (which is now their 'Pride of Aloha'). We cruised from San Juan, PR to St Thomas, St Maarten; Martinique; Antigua, and one other place, i cant remember the name at the moment.

I absolutely loved it. I cant wait to go on another cruise! :)

We have gone on the Carnival Fantasy 3 times to the Bahams....DH is crazy over the Bahamas.

I wasn't crazy about Freeport- Paradise Island was nice. I really liked the Blue lagoon. I'd like to try something different, but DH always wants to go back there. I think next year I am going to have to put my foot down and go where I want to go!!

Re: Cruise people!!

I've been on 3 so far.

Disney cruise for my honeymoon. We sailed to the western caribbean. Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Key West and Castaway Cay, which is Disney's own private island. It was absolutely the best cruise ever. I was worried that we were going to see a ton of kids and we didn't. There are plenty of adult areas that kids aren't permitted to go to. The food and the dessert were the best ever on this ship.

Carnival Destiny~Southern Caribbean. We flew to PR and went to Aruba, St. Thomas (we took an excursion to St. John **beautiful**), Barbados, and St. Maarten. I did NOT like Carnival at all. I thought the people weren't nice and the boat was old. The food wasn't that impressive.

Princess~Golden Princess~Also Southern Caribbean. We flew to PR again and went to sooo many beautiful places. St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados and Antigua. This is a close tie to Disney. Great food, beautiful rooms and boat, friendly people and staff. An absolulute must on the Princess ship is the separate italian rest. You pay an additional 20 dollars but you are there for three hours for dinner. They serve you everything on the menu...no exaggerations!

A balcony is another must for all cruising. We tried to save money on the Carnival cruise and we wound up being miserable looking out of that tiny porthole. It adds so much more room and relaxation to your room.

I'm just sad that my cruising days are over for now...

Re: Cruise people!!

We have been on two and are going on a third this summer....

First was Carnival Imagination. Went to Grand Caymen and Ochos Rios.

Second was Carnival Conquest. Went to Grand Cayment, Montego Bay and Cozumel.

I liked the actual Conquest ship better although we all agreed that the Imagination had better night life.

This summer we are going on the Carnival Victory, which goes to San Juan, St. Marteen and St. Thomas.

I went on Royal Carribean to Bermuda and it was called..darn.. I forget the name.. it was so long ago. But it was great.

I went on the Island Princess to Hawaii and it was great too.

The entertainment on Royal Carribean was better. The food on Princess was better.
