cruise question

i am getting our air fare separate; not through the cruiseline

im wondering if the boat docks at 7AM (supposedly) do you think i can make an 1130 flight or should i go later to be safe??

TIA

I'd go a little later to be safe. The boat may dock late, and you may not be in the first group of people to get off the boat.

Re: cruise question

When I went on my cruise my boat docked at 7am and I think i took a 12:00 flight. You should be able to make it just make sure you have all your luggage, passports and everything ready because everyone makes a mad rush to get off the boat first. Try and get ready early so you don't have to wait long

Re: cruise question

I would do later to be safe. When we go on our cruise for the honeymoon I think the cruise docks at 8 am and I am going to try and get an afternoon flight. I don't want to miss it if I get an early one.

I would make it a little later.

The cruise that we went on, everyone got off the boat and went into this HUGE room to find your luggage - it was divided in like 8 groups but there were still hundreds of bags in each group. We found ours quickly, but some people took up to 25 mins just to find thier bags.

It does take awhile to get off the boat - you leave at designated times, and you don't get to pick which time you debark.

Re: cruise question

I wouldnt risk it, I would take a later flight. At least an hour or two later. I've been on many cruises before and sometimes I got off the ship pretty quickly and one time it took over 3 hours and it was chaos! You never know what could happen so I would say to try and find a flight a little bit later.

Re: cruise question

yea 'deboating' can take a long time, but what we did on our cruise was volunteer to be the first ones off (which means you take your own luggage instead of the workers handling it for you) and get off the boat at 6 am, before they let everyone else off. You can call your cruiseline and see if you have that option but I don't know if it'll be too early for you

I would agree..definitely carry off your own luggage. We did this and we were off the boat in like 15 minutes. Its so much better and then you should be able to make that flight!

Re: cruise question

When we docked it seriously took close to 2 hours to get off...everyone gets luggage tags with a color and letter on it. So we went to have breakfast first before they started calling the number and letter...It went SOOOOO Slow, we were waiting forever for them to call our group, our luck i think we were the last ones. We just had to sit in the dining hall.

They tell you not to book flights before like 2:00. Personally, I think you'd be perfectly dafe with a flight at 1:00, but I definately wouldnt risk 11:30. You never know what might come up with security or delays with docking.

You may want to be safe and have extra time ,
Denise is right., they make you sit and they call you by rooms or whatever, you can be there for long!

Book it later to be safe, but they do let the ppl off first who have flights. But you can still be sitting there for quite some time.

Re: cruise question

We did a 12 pm flight just to make sure we could make it in time, but the cruise ship kicks you out so you will definately make it.

The thing that might take a while is customs and getting a taxi/shuttle to the airport

Re: cruise question

we are cruising for new years and we pushed the flight back a little for the return home ... we figured if we had extra time, we could hang around the port - there are usually great places to eat, shop etc.

boat docks at 7 am - our flight is at 12:45 BUT there is an hour ride to the airport!

yea we had to do it b/c we had a wedding that day and we needed to get off the ship early but after reading what pure chaos it is to disembark any other way I think that's what we'll be doing from now on. Crowds of people make me

Re: cruise question

Carnival gives you a pass when you get on the cruise if you show proof that you have a early flight so you will be the first one off the boat with the VIP's

Re: cruise question

Definitely make it later, I've been on 2 cruises where I didn't get out until like 10:00-10:30. Plus you can explore and maybe go shopping or sightseeing before you go home if you make it a later flight.

the crowds weren't bad, everyone stayed in different parts of the ship...We were eating breakfast when they first started and just sat down at the table and hung out...its funny bc everyone that was there ran out to wait by the door, which was stupid. AT one point Me, fh and his family were the only ones in the dining hall.
