I've heard that it is better to be toward the middle of the ship because the front rocks more and in the back you have to deal with hearing the anchor and what not going down in the AM when they are docking. We've only been on one cruise and we were in the middle of the ship...we had no problems and had a wonderful view.

I usually always get the middle of the boat because in my mind I think it will be less rocking : ) I don't think that is true though but that's what I beleive lol.
I hear the rooms directly on the back though have awesome views because you get to see three sides rather than just straight out in front of you.

We were off the back of the boat when we went to Alaska and it wasn't rocky. But we weren't really in open ocean, it was inlets mostly.
The views were AWESOME! We loved it.

The middle of the ship is the best but the second best if you can't get that is the back, the front has alot of motion and you feel it alot more. I was in the back in the last possible cabin looking out the back of the ship and I thought it was fine!!

Make sure you get an outside cabin. Any view will be fantastic. I also made sure I got more to the middle of the boat then towards either end. And it really is not loud. You can't here the ship. Flushing the toilet, now that is LOUD!!!!
