I'm so sorry Diane. I know hoe important the wedding band is and I feel your pain. I thought DH lost his a few times and it got me upset since it holds so much meaning for me. Good luck finding it.

Re: Crying hysterically...

My DH lost his ring 5 times. 4 times we found it again and the 5th time was the charm. At first I was upset, but we eventually got him a new one. I told him if he loses this one I would tatoo his finger. Yes, there are worse things, but I know how upsetting this is...

My friends laugh at me when I tell them the ring story.

For this reason - I think we are going to get FH 2 wedding bands right off the bat - men are so irresponsible. Your DH is certainly not the first to do this and definitelty not the last!

Oh Diane, I am so sorry to hear this.

Maybe getting him an everyday ring to use in case this happens again wouldn't be too bad of an idea. And save the replacement ring for when he's not working. But I know it will never be the ring you put on his finger the day you were married

I am kind of happy to hear that I am not the only one. I am sorry for the other girls whose husbands lost theirs too but I thought this was very uncommon.

I'm so sorry that this happened.... Boys are silly, a lot of them aren't used to wearing rings or any type of jewelery. I really hope you find it.

Re: Crying hysterically...

Diane,

I'm so sorry. Our jeweler told me that grooms are the worst for losing their rings why?.... because they take them off or are always playing with them. He told us of one story where he had to replace a groom's ring three times in less than a year! The third time the groom called and begged him not to tell the wife who was going into the store to pick something out for her birthday. The jeweler said that if he lost it one more time he was gettting a tattoo artist to make the forth one.

I'd buy him one more (when some time passes) and say, 'if you take this one off or lose it I will either tattoo or surgically implant the next one onto your finger'.

Tha safest place for our rings is one our fingers. and don't take them off!!

Say a prayer to St Anthony!!
Hopefully he left it in the command when he took it off.

I am sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, or at least put a smile on your face, my dad lost his wedding band twice!!
Once on their honeymoon (2nd day there) and another one a few years ago.
It must be good luck though, my parents have been married over 35 years.

I know the ring means a lot to you. I am sorry that you are going through this.

DG i am so very sorry to hear & read this. I know how you feel that nothing can replace the sentiment attached ehn you placed it on his finger. I really hope by some miracle it turns up.

If not, was it insured? Can you get a duplicate made & maybe do a little dinner things on yr 3mth anniversary & place it on his finger again?? just some thoughts that may help. Again i am really sorry to hear yr tears

I know it is terrible, but think...at least you still have FH! There are a lot worse things that could be lost!

Diane!!!!! this is so awful!!! I'm going to show this post to DH so he stops taking it off when he takes showers and such, and I'm just as bad, I guess I won't be taking my rings off anymore

So now I'm thinking, if he can't find it, for the future, why don't you get one 'real' ring to be blessed and be your special ring, and then another one he can where to work, like a titanium one or something?

Good luck finding it!!

Dont' get titanium for work!!!

if his fingers get 'jammed' in someinthign, and it swells, and it needs to be cut off in an emergency, the saw EMS uses cant cut Titanium...

Don' task how I know that... I think my mom told me once, so that FH wouldn't get a titanium ring...

I'm full of useless info

Re: Crying hysterically...

The ring hasnt turned up yet but he told alot of people and when he goes back to work on Wednesday he is going to tell all the MTA workers too.

I am figuring it wont turn up and if it doesnt, we are getting a duplicate one and also a plain silver one so he can wear that one to work.

Thanks girls! You all made me feel alot better.
