cupcakes instead of cake?

Fh and I are at a standstill with cakes, as I expected would happen... Our dessert tastes are completely different. Since we are doing an extended viennesse I'm not too concerned and figure we would just taste some cakes over the weekend.

He spoke with one of his friends who got married at East wind and she suggested cup cakes. She said they made the bottom tier cupcakes, top a regular cake so there is a place for the cake topper and pics and then the cup cakes and cake all went into the viennesse hour room.

Has anyone done this or doing something like it? I kinda like the idea...

I have seen it before & I LOVE it! I think it is a great way to do something different yet still look elegant!

Cupcakes are like the new thing. Ive seen them instead of a wedding cake an also separate where there is a cake for the wedding but cupcakes were thw take home favor. Think its a cute idea.

Personally I am traditional and like the idea of a traditional wedding cake. How about doing different flavors in each tier so you can both have flavors you like?

This!! My friend did all cupcakes and she had a cupcake tier stand. It was very cute. It's totally your preference. She had the bakery make a huge cupcake for them for the cake cutting portion.

I was going to do cupcakes instead of a cake, but my viennese hour will have them so I went with cake for the tradition but I LOVE cupcakes

def cupcakes! especially since you have a Viennese hour..with all that yummydessert i probably wouldn't waste room on a piece of cake but would def eat a cupcake! that's just me though! let me know if east wind charges more for this. if not, i will be doing cupcakes!

i have seen on 4 weddings and other shows and think it is cute too!

couple of questions i would ask--do you think that it will be same cost- may or may not be more labor intensive. Who provides the stand for it (depending on set up this could be expensive). is it 1 cupcake per guest? what if a guest wants 2nds?

They do not charge extra for the cupcakes. There are two tiers of them, not enough for 1 per guest but since we have the viennesse hour and the top tier which will be cut, I'm not worried and super excited.

Also got the proofs f for the mini couple cake topper today. I can't wait for the to arrive! Nicole Clark is wonderful! !!
