Have you tried Embossing yet? it's amazing! I learned some things though.. like the first set of stamps i bought were crappy and the plastic ones are wayyy better... and some other things. I think doing DIY projects and learning new crafts is where you can end up spending more money than if you were to just purchase the item. But it's sooo much more personal and you get EXACTLY what you want!
Well, it depends. If you really look around at many craft places before purchasing, then you can totally save. Like, the card box I'm gonna be making... I'm copying from the modern bride, but mine will cost about 50 all in all...when the site wanted 130!! WOWIE! lol. As for somet other things..I can go a bit over-board with... so i need to learn to limit myself. LOL

I am using it for my STD's... the white snoflakes are embossed. It's like a clear stamp then a powder then you heat it to raise it. I use powder with glitter in it because I truely believe that glitter makes everything better! I am also using it for my invitations... and the card name thingys... dunno what they are called. And maybe even my menu's and programs. I plan on making all that plus the aisle runner and cardbox.. but I don't think embossing will help in that area. You know when you get a hallmark card or any card or invitation where the letters are raised? That's usually embossed on. You can do it on envelopes. You can even have stamps made up with works... like get your monogram or wording for something made into a stamp and emboss it on the paper. The heat tool is like $25 but totally worth it with all the embossing I plan on doing. They have stamps for everything! Note: don't get the rubber ones.. they tend to show imperfections on the stamp... unless that's the look you are going for (sometimes old fashion looking is nice)... the ones that come in between clear plastic paper...a and the stamp is just a shape... then you buy this plastic square thing and the stamp peice just attaches to it. Hmm... this is picture worthy. One day i will take a pic of what I am talking about and you shall see. If you are ever in Michaels or AC Moore.... wander into the stamp aisle.. you will be pleasntly surprised! A friend of mine turned me onto it... her mother used to go to stamo shows (ha ha ha ha ha - I have to laught everytime I think about that) and they used tomake their own professional looking xmas cards and stuff.
It's awesome that your FH works in a print shop! I'm sure that's a huge help with wedding DIY!

I know exactly what you are talking about but I didn't know that it was something you could buy in Michaels or something. I guess I'll have to move on to the stamp ailse for some butterfly ones. I want to add some small butterflies to everything. FH said that he can't do exactly what I wanted so I thought I just had to settle for not hacing them...thank goodness I don' t know. I'll check it out on Tues when I hit Micahels up for my cardbox. LOL> Thanks!!!
Yeah, FH comes in handy...at least with the printing stuff. Everything else... not so much! HAHAH
Oh, and glitter DEF DOES add a bit something extra to everything. I got this clear giltter coat for my WE DO lettes...and in person it looks amazing I can only imagine what it will look like when the spot lights shining on it! LOL

Ok, so for the bird seed toss after the ceremony I am handing out silk DIY roses that the guests can just flick and the bird seed will come flowing out. I have a min of 175 at RH... and I know not everyone comes to the church...How many do you think I should make? I have about 30 done so far...
THANKS!
Your church allows you to throw something? Wow, lucky!

Haha...yes it's going to be a site to see when I see all the butterflies that I will have to choose from. And, if I'm excited enough, I may even start talking to myself. HAHAHAHA>
Yeah, I never saw the WE DO letters either... I didn't want to do I DO, b/c there is two of us..HA. But when I saw everyone getting them, and then I was talking to Crafty Eddie and saw ones he did, I just needed them! I was sold. If I never saw his work I never would have ordered them honestly. It could be a LIW thing...not sure, but I like it and saw what nice pics it makes. Also, I'm a nut for keeping thns, so it'll look good in my wedding cabnet after the fact! HAHA None the less, I had no idea what else to do for the cake table haha

That's true it will look good. I want to make a shadow box after the wedding with some of the momentos. Who is Crafty Eddie? ha ha!
