I hate my hair and havent stopped thinking about how Im going to wear if from the min I got engaged. I have naturally very curly hair. Spiral curls. I blow my hairt straight and it comes out pretty darn good (I wear is both ways). Anyway, I have a huge forehead and dont really care for my bangs to be pulled straight back. Here's the biggest issue, (Please dont laugh, its pretty serious), underneath I have this very frizzy coarse hair that doent do anything. it just stays there puffed out. I've gone to so many people and they just dont understand it... Anyway, for people with curly hair, how are you or how did you wear your hair? Any pics would help thanks

Re: Curly hair questions...
you can look in my album for pics of my hair. i naturally have very curly dense thick hair. i know what you mean and what your fear is.
the only thing that i can suggest is that you take yourself to a 'spanish' salon. preferably a DOMINICAN salon. they will make your hair do anything you want it to.
if you look at my pictures: my mother (in grey), both my bridesmaids, and i have thick, curly, dry, coarse hair.
if you need more info, fm me

Re: Curly hair questions...
I personally have very thick coarse wavy hair and no matter how much I straighten it with a flat iron the new growth always stays curly!! And if I don't straighten it, it just looks like a frizz ball!!
The only solution I can give you, which is what I did and it helped sooooo much is to chemically straighten it. My gf is a hairdresser and she does it for me and it does not hurt my hair at all.
She uses the Paul Mithcell Super straightening chemical system.
HTH...
ETA: I just noticed you posted some hair pics of yourself. I think you look great with straight hair!!

Re: Curly hair questions...
If you go to a good stylist who uses extremely good products in your hair they will be able to figure something out. ALso, dont feel bad, so many people for their weddings want curls, theres so many straight haired people who have to get it curled, like myself.

ok, back to hair. i would give a dominican salon a try.... the good part is, they're usually cheaper than non-latino salons

Re: Curly hair questions...
Ok I think you hair doesnt look coarse at all... but my hair is coarse and curly.. this was my process
1- Got my hair relaxed a week before (RH dinner) - I dont think you need to do this
2- Blow Dried it the day before the wedding
3- than had the stylist d my hair with curls on a curling iron.

Of course you can wear a veil if you wear your hair down! I'm planning to wear my hair down and wear a veil. (I was able to try tons of veils on with my hair down, too!)

Re: Curly hair questions...
First, I thik you look gorgeous with your hair straight or wavy. I sat wavy because I really wouldn't consider your hair really curly. When I think of curly, I think or tighter, frizzy curls - which I have. To get an accurate idea of how curly my hair is, think of the spring inside the pens. That is how curly my hair. I can blow it straight with no problem. However, the moment there's humidity out there, all my work is useless. I just bought a CHI hot iron that I plan on using tomorrow. We'll see how much better it is than strictly blowing it.
As far as hair for the day of. M IA from BRID AL LOU NGE made my hair really nice at the trial. I don't have pics yet because she took them with her camera and hasn't e-mailed them yet. She is wonderful. You might want to give her a try. You won't be dissapointed.

Re: Curly hair questions...
my hair is very thick and curly. I had it blown out the day before and then they used a curling iron to put curls back in. There were no frizzies, and my hair stayed perfect the whole day.

Re: Curly hair questions...
It looks awesome both ways. I say down and curly. Who needs a veil with those curls?! And I'm a man (albeit one with seriously curly hair). Just saying.

I have very curly spiral hair also. Here's a pic of my hair curly, then a weding pic. My hair girl set it in rollers and I sat under a dryer to dry it.
