which florist did you use and why? they all seem so expensive so idk which to choose and no one seems better or worse than the other? It just stinks that we have to choose one from their suggested vendor list. (i think?)

Yeah, we get to choose from Flowers by Brian, Pedest@ls, Jack/Rose and Spitz/Peck.

I found Flowers by Brian to be cheaper than Pedest@ls but I've heard the opposite - guess it depends on negotiating skill/types of flowers, etc. They were within a few hundred dollars on a package around $4000 so not that much different.

Spitz/Peck was like $3000 over my FBB price.

Didn't bother going to Jack/Rose b/c they have an 'F' rating on the Better Business Bureau.

I already had a florist and told my BM so he eliminated that in my contract. See if you can use your own florist instead of theirs. They only make you use the house florist so they can get a % of it. . I honestly didn't even make an appointment with my florist yet so I don't know how much she is charging but if its over budget, I have the option of going anywhere. Good luck!!

I then met with both FBB and Pedestals and their prices were basically the same. I found Pedestals had a few ideas that I liked more so I planned to book with them, however the person I met with, Virgil, took over a week to call me back! I left 2 messages (and i was calling to book him and have him mail me the final paperwork). I was told both times he was in work just with clients and he would call me later that day. 8 days later I got a return call just apologizing saying he was busy. I wanted better customer service so I booked with FBB who was so reachable and easy to work with. If you do meet with pedestals I would just suggest NOT meeting with Virgil

when i booked crest hollow, they told me that i had to use one of their suggested florists and pedestals wasn't on their list. pedestals has such great reviews and i know a lot of people who used them, so i decided to meet with them anyway. i also made an appointment with flowers by brian. i had both florists make me a sample. i was much happier with the sample that pedestals made me. when i called my banquet manager and told her that i was leaning towards pedestals, she said that they were no longer a preferred vendor and told me to check out the other florists on the list. she said that if i really wanted to work with pedestals, there was nothing she could do to stop me, so i went with pedestals.

also, i really thought pedestals was going to be ridiculously priced, but their prices were roughly the same as flowers by brian.

Just ask your BM if you can use another florist and they should be able to ammend your contract. Just tell them that all of the price quotes were out of your budget! good luck!

Thanks for all the advice. I didnt even know that i could possibly negotiate or renegoitate this part of my contract. I have not met with any of them yet .
